I must have had too much caffeine today...

And wouldn't highways call it a 3 lane road?

Surely that depends on what you are overtaking, and how fast it is going?

i've driven it many times - got family up that area plus its on the road to knockhill and t in the park.

anyhoos, it always catches out the doddlers not paying attention in the way described by the OP. The regulars know its coming and get in the right position and gear to squirt past as fast as possible.

I'll have you know that our Honda Jazz can go from 0-60. smile
Once upon a time I had a 1966 Rover P5 saloon 3-litre straight six.

"0 to 60 in - what time is it now...?"

There is a quarter mile stretch of dual carriageway on the A590 in the south lakes, although it does say it's only that long at the start.

Used to really have to wind up a 50 bhp Polo to overtake on there when I was 17!

Can comfortably overtake a few cars in something with a decent amount of power though!

OP good on you for not being a prat and forcing your way past.
I drive on a similar stretch every day and I never fail to see someone trying to pass that one more car resulting in them crossing the double white line or forcing the overtakee to brake.
