Unlucky for getting trapped by the scameras.

I've been done twice and so has my brother in Reading, in similar circumstances to you, and I did contest mine. 3 months later and a load of letters and, no joke, a stack of 'evidence' an INCH THICK came through the post.

They'd hand written to me, telling me I was breaking the law, rules of road, etc. and had scanned across to me chapter and verse, and had got a bloke out to photograph the tarmac and cameras to back them up.

Still heard nothing so far, from a 'tribunal'.

No justification for this waste of their time and mine, let alone money, I mustve been in the lane for 2 seconds max on an empty road at night. Stupid.

If I were you, contest it just to make it a pain for them.

Good luck!
Did you get away with it?

So are the ones in the area you're complaining about, as quoted by previous users / shown by Google Maps.

Which bit isn't clear?

Just as you get to the top of the incline there's bloody massive writting on the road saying bus only and on the right there's more massive writting saying turning area.

Look at the end of the day you got to the top of the hill decided not to turn and thought fk it i'll just keep going , you were caught and that's that.

You can try and appeal it but under what grounds, the signs saying bus lane are clearly there.

Dick here again, so you went through from this 'really poorly' marked side then

Oh! and where you entered through the lights the road was marked as a No Through Road

Tacking a representation of a road sign to the end of a street name may be sufficient on a close in a housing estate, but something more substantial (e.g. the full sized equivalent, with an 'Except Buses' plate underneath) is needed here, surely?

Not really. No Through Road is just information - what is often referred to as a "clue". The chuffing great big lettering, the full width of the lane and along about ten metres of road surface, together with big blue signs either side of a width restriction, are the actual bits telling Gaz not to go any further, unless he's driving a bus or on a bicycle, and which he clearly failed to notice.

I wonder if there's a SpecSavers along that stretch of road?

the op issue is with the fact its not a traditional bus only lane. Its road that has nothing one end and is residential street. To avoid it becoming a rat run you can drive up and down it as much as you like but you can not exit out of one end taking you on wellington road.

It has a cctv camera and anpr as well as blue bus and cycle only signs, see the below link showing what the op missed.

So if I'm reading this thread right, the OP drove in a lane he shouldn't have which makes all bus drivers wannabe articulated lorry driving fat peadophiles, he wants the council to perform fellatio on him (I'm not sure that they actually offer that service - I'm pretty certain My local council don't), and he wants to defecate on a council worker?

What a strange World the OP must live in!
