It's equally boring for us. Three people have claimed to have been done, or know someone close who has, for speeding at 34mph in a 30 limit, yet none of them can prove it. When asked to do this, they spit their dummies, or come up woth the most tenuous reasons not to.

I don't believe anyone has ever been prosecuted for 34mph in a 30 limit and will reiterate my offer to pay for their SAC or FPN and any increase in insurance premium for the next 5 years. They need to show me the ticket personally to qualify.
In which case I think you need a new hobby.....
It's more of a calling than a hobby.

I don't normally agree with Loon much about anything, but I do this time.

I'm just an innocent bystander...

... but I am also disappointed that NO ONE has ever backed up their claim of 'being done' at 34 with proof.

Odd that, isn't it. Imagine the enjoyment one of them could have from posting some convincing proof, and yet still none of them has done so.

More than that. This is a forum for car/driving enthusiasts and, on the whole, we're broadly sympathetic about small speeding infractions. Most of us weigh the risk of accidents and being caught and then decide for ourselves. So it would be a commendable service to other PHers if those who have such a NIP posted evidence here so that we were all better able to weigh that risk.

For now it sounds like pub-style tall stories, and some sort of reverse oneupmanship.

I've been caught speeding twice. The first was at 34mph in a 30 zone. Perhaps I should have refused the £60 fine and the 3 points on my licence on the grounds that 10 years later no-one would believe such an incredulous tale. I doubt speed awareness courses were an option at this time and ACPO guidance is just that.....guidance....and unlikely to be followed if it is purely a money making exercise. I joined a two lane road through an industrial estate from a slip road and was too busy adjusting my speed to merge with the traffic to notice plod on the verge with a camera on a tripod snapping away.

The second time was at 96mph on an empty motorway coming out of Scotland. I accept this was a bit naughty but when faced with an eight hour drive with the mother-in-law its a wonder I was that slow wink
