Just to close this thread - I msg'd her clearly explaining my position and that after my curtesy of letting her use the garage for free for a certain amount of time I was highly disappointed by the current turn of events and wouldn't be prepared to suffer financial loss as a result of something like this. I gave her until the end of the weekend by realising I could have the car delivered straight to a specialist MOT center locally first, which meant I could stall the delivery by a few days. Luckily my msg worked and the garage was clear by close of play Friday - and now my car will arrive with a fresh MOT (hopefully!)

ETA - highly disappointed that Ging84 pushed me into releasing how boring the real solution was!
