Should we not all reply to this stating that speeding is not a problem, and perhaps the M6 at rushour?

what a joke. filling in a survey to tell the police who speeds where cause they dont know. i wouldnt fill anything in,id tell them to find out for themselves. seeing as they have nothing else better to do than ask the public.

But the question as to whether speeding is a problem is still a valid one, and if they are seeking the opinion of the public then we should be represented... I'm sure most of us have driven on the M6 at some point.

And speed is a problem at rushhour as it's too slow!

If I lived in that area I'd be minded to tweet that they don't appear to have a website asking about areas of burglaries or muggings.

"The Central Motorway Policing Group (CMPG) is made up of officers and staff from West Midlands, West Mercia and Staffordshire police forces."

never mind speeding they should ask if crime has risen in your local area and do something about it. hardly see a bobby walking the beat anymore due to cut backs, crime has risen, jails are full enough said.

Don't worry- doubtful if REPORTED crime has risen in your area. Folks only seem to report crime nowadays for incident number to satisfy insurance company , not to see a response and the stats only show REPORTED CRIME.
If it's urgent, three PCSO MIGHT appear. One to find the way there, one to make sure the route out is reversed and one to take details. smilesmile. IF it's urgent ,one of the SNT might appear a day later on bicycle .( Cars are reserved for motoring offences, such as the heinous single crime of no TAX).
I see regular ANPR patrols in town every so often. but report a dodgy vehicle ( even one shown as untaxed and with no MOT, as confirmed by DVLA), and there's never a rush to do anything. I do report these , not because I'm a GOS or NIMBY , or even because parking is at a premium in our road, but because this sort get targeted for arson attacks. Fancy that outside -NO-and nor do I .

The problem isn't the speeding, its the cars that are going slower than lorries and lorries that seem to overtake at 1mph different. The motorways are already busy and it doesn't help that the lorries take it down to 1 lane.

I find it very doubtful a Police force would use a free survey site to conduct a survey online.

It is most likely a pressure group masquerading as the Police

Remember this "survey" is the contribution towards people like vonhosen on here claiming speed policing is wanted by the people.

One of the Tweets on theor twitter thingy- "15 vehicles stopped on the M6 toll since 08:00. 118 mph was the fastest vehicle that was stopped - very likely to loose his licence" - How tight should his license be then?

More on their twitter account: "In 2013 3064 people died or were seriously injured in collisions where speed was a factor." - well nobody is going to die if the vehicles weren't moving - Duh!

Do you think they mean speeds in excess of the posted limit?

A few miles an hour can mean the difference between life and death. More speed means less time to stop.
So if you want to stop for a coffee or are on the way to see a dying relative, get your foot down.

Same here. Bunch of tossers.
Perhaps they could start an online survey targeting crimes identified by US that we want the police to concentrate on?
Perhaps an equally leading question like;
Would you prefer public spending to be on camera vans and other automated speed detection equipment or provide more policemen to patrol your neighbourhood?

Then we can declare that nearly all the public are in support of scrapping scamera vans.
