Owning a small car park myself, I know how utterly infuriating things like this are.

My remedy would be simple:

Stick large notice to the car windscreen stating that you believe the car had been abandoned on private property and that the owner has 7 days to remove it otherwise it will be disposed of. Take a photo of the car with notice on it.

Wait about 10 days, take another photo, and then simply call up the local scrapyard and they will gladly come and collect it using a HIAB truck.

All at no cost to yourself.

I sold a Vito that was left on our land on Gumtree for a third of its market value, cash, same day to a guy who removed the number plates, put it on a trailer and drove straight to Poland.
I would also enjoy that method.

For sale: Abandoned car. no keys, no paperwork.

Of course, if the fella that dumped it on you waited until you did that and then successfully claimed on his insurance, then it's a win-win. wink

If someone threw an old laptop or lawnmower into your garden you would simply put it in the bin without giving it a second thought.

But as soon as it's a car everyone is frightened to touch it.

Put a large note on their windscreen saying that they have until (exact date) to move the car or it will be deemed as abandoned, and collected by the local scrap yard.

It'll go either way.

Doesn't your friendly scrapyard fella want you to sign some sort of paperwork? You know, the sort of paperwork that he needs as evidence that you're entitled to give permission to scrap the car?

(Serious question; I've never scrapped one before and have only seen the bit on the V5.)

Yea.

It's been moved, to someone else's parking space!

The selfish mentality of some people is truly astonishing.

And stick a print of the Gumtree ad to the windscreen.

Get some trolley jacks and wheel it onto the nearest set of double yellow lines - that'll get it sorted quickly :-)

When someone abandoned a van in the car park of a DIY shop I used to work in, we just switched the hazard lights on and 'parked' it on the side of the A40. It had gone by the morning!
