Easily an option. I've come very close to destroying parts of the house with hidden stones being ejected from the lawnmower before.

I had a pane go on my conservatory a few years ago for no reason at all.

It looked like the picture and it had what looked like a central impact point.

Definitely was not air rifle or outside debris as it was only the inside pane that broke and I was only person in the house at the time.

But we do have an air rifle in the house, so maybe the ghosts?

I have done exactly that damage to my patio doors when strimming. A small piece of gravel thrown up and high speed, looked exactly like the window had been shot

Just for clarity there is no way the lawn was being mown - it's still way too long in another pic I have for it to have been recently mown and the tenants were both at work............

I still think some sort of stress fracture - windows are 17 years old......(bit nothing wrong with them otherwise)

That reminds me of a long term renter near here, they don't need curtains because the windows are so filthy.

That's not an air rifle pellet. It's a larger object.

In my old house we had a crossbow bolt hit our kitchen window. It penetrated the outer pane and cracked the inner pane (didnt come all the way through, luckily). Unfortunately I was at work at the time and the utter pond life that shot it from the houses opposite came round and retrieved the bolt from the glass (making it harder to accurately judge the trajectory) before the police could arrive.

As it happened they completely denied firing it and said they had seen kids messing about in the street, personally I think that was bks and they had been messing about in their back garden shooting the fence and missed.

Turns out the guy had done time at some point for a vicious assault and was known to be involved in a local drugs gang.

Funnily enough we sold up and moved out not long after.
