Well you've not said if you had any mitigation to offer.

But as you had representation I'll go with 14 days ban and £1000 fine based on the fact you said you have a good job.

How much did the lawyer cost BTW?

I went with a specialist firm £850 all in, I shopped about quite a bit too most wanted about 1200 but this one stood out when I spoke to them. . They gave me a barrister who was very good with my mitigation which was vehicle is a absolute must for my job.

I got 6 points and a £1200 fine plus a well deserved telling off from the magistrate.

Result!

Pretty average result. I was expecting you to say 3 points.

Unless you were on a motorway then you weren't fined £1200.

2 grand, hmmm I think I'd have declined to fill in the means test form (if that's still an option) and taken my chances hehe

No is mistyped the fine it was 635 all in. I couldn't live with with even a short ban so I specified I'd rather take the points

If you don't mind me asking, what was the fee split for counsel / solicitor. If you had a solicitor then what did he actually do? PM me if you don't want to post this info online.

Fair enough, but not that "lucrative" for a contractor as you'd have gotten a band B fine. Which is 100% of weekly wage....

I seriously dread getting caught especially if you're forced to give salary info as I'd get clobbered for the max frown. That's with me on a low day rate by IT standards btw.....

Agreed. But where I make money is in the overtime, I only quoted my Base salary based on 37 hours which is what I'm contracted for
