Had the misfortune to drive into London today. At a yellow box junction as I started off into what I thought would be a free space on the other side, a taxi that had been stopped in the bus lane nipped in front, leaving me in the junction as the lights went red. This did not block the junction or stop any other cars. Am I likely to get a fine, points or both?

What is even more annoying is it took me about an hour to pay for the congestion charge as online every time I tried to pay, my details failed. Rang the phone line & after about 10 minutes they answered, told me don't worry as the website isn't working properly today, Grrrr!

If your unlucky enough to be picked up on camera it's just a fine, no points

Fine, no points. You'll get a link to a video at some point.

Your defence will be that your exit from the yellow box was clear when you entered it - then the other vehicle pulled out and baulked your vehicle's exit from said yellow box... You'll probably have to appeal all the way to PATAS to win (because the LA want your money and don't give a damn how they get it wink ), though!

PS It will be worth visiting the LA's parking drones'/subbies' office to view the video and make sure your case is boiler plate before taking it forward as described wink .

Just a fine. I got done for it once in heavy traffic. First time driving within the north circular, got caught out in what was free flowing traffic all slamming to a stop, stationary for 8 seconds on a bank holiday Monday, hand operated camera got me frown

£60 fine. Painful to a final year student with just a month left!
