May be just me, or where I drive, but there seem to be more and more drivers who only drive in the RH lane on dual carriageways.
Realistically, there is a need to change lanes to turn right at a junction, but does this really need to be done any more than a few hundred yards in advance.

On my daily commute along a dual carriageway, it is not unusual to see drivers moving into the right hand lane a few miles and half a dozen roundabouts before they actually turn right and often 10mph below the speed limit for the whole distance. This also seems to happen when the road is almost deserted.

Does anyone else see this as a growing problem?

Yep. Been driving the A50/M1 for the past 18 months - and it's bloody atrocious.

Cars pulling onto the motorway - straight into lane 2 despite lane 1 being empty. In some cases I been in lane 1 and seen lanes 2 and 3 virtually nose to tail - whilst lane 1 is empty for almost 1/2 a mile both in front and behind me.

Cars changing lanes for absolutely no reason. I have even seen cars move into lane 3 despite there being nothing in lanes 1 and 2 ahead of them. After a few minutes the pull back across to lane 2. Bonkers!

Cars in lane 1 straight lining 3 lane roundabouts - oblivious to the two lanes of traffic to their right.

I have to admit that on any motorway journeys I do, I have to undertake to make any form of progress these days. Even at 70!

It's just like the numpties who see no point in speeding up beyond a crawling pace because they have to stop a few miles ahead anyway.

I though Audis, BMWs and Land/Range Rovers weren't allowed in the inside lanes.

My rant is: Why do people not use the bus lanes when outwith the restricted times? And why give me the two fingers just because I do - and end up in front of them!

you aren't the only one, i hate going down the inside of people, but if you flash them a couple of times and they still won't move over and i don't want to be a danger to lane 3 (diesel land rover) i go down their left hand side, and invariably stay in that lane for a few miles more.

i have no issues with the person getting out into lane 2 to overtake, just get back to the left after you have and stuff is coming up behind you. i do.

The spackers are taking over the roads. I honestly pass more on the left than the right these days because this stupidity is so common around Rotherham.

Not just lane discipline in the same direction, I am more frequently seeing people cut corners (A few times causing me to emergency stop to avoid a collision as I head to the junction), and people travelling in my lane when travelling in the opposite direction - even around blind corners..

Cheeky sod! Some of us have to trundle along in the inside lane for fuel efficency!

Just like cutting across lanes at roundabouts - Enter from lane 1 - cut to lane 2 before the apex - exit back to lane 1

Please don't publicise this bus lane secret. Let's keep this knowledge to ourselves to our own advantage.
I like using these and also the lanes left empty because a mile up the road there is a merge or it turns into a right (or left)-turn-only jobbie.

As well as the lane hoggers there also seems to me to have been a huge increase in recent months of complete loons thinking it's fine to turn right from the left hand lane of dualled roads and vice versa at junctions. Lunatics about covers it.

Oh my god yes. The number of idiots who straight-line roundabouts (even when you are next to them) is definitely increasing. I've had that 'tingling spider sense' and hung back from a car, for it to occupy both lanes (including the one I would have been in) far too many times recently.

A couple of weeks ago somebody changed lanes into mine, damaging the rear wheel arch (which, hilariously, I'd just had that whole side of the car repaired after some bar-steward had scraped/dented whilst driving down it when I was parked outside my house).

Guy was very apologetic at the time and admitted not looking before changing lanes, but (un)surprisingly hasn't reported the incident (his car was a crappy old beat up thing). Insurance said it would go as a 'split claim' unless the other side admitted responsibility. Luckily I have dashcam footage which I forwarded on, and the insurance people said they should be able to use it to prove the other party's guilt. Fingers crossed. If I do get the money back, that little dashcam will have saved me £460.

In the last thirty years or so I have not really noticed the proportion of drivers lane hogging etc. increase. There are a lot more cars though.

On the upside modern cars can maintain a reasonable speed, go around bends and the brakes work well, something that cannot be said of the ones around thirty years ago.

They've also been around for ages, except in the past they've tended to practice their craft on S/C roads - perhaps not quite as dangerous, but definitely annoying - especially when they don't indicate until the last moment.
I really don't see why they seem to go out of their way to position themselves so far over to the left, when if they stopped just a few inches further over then they wouldn't collect a whole long queue behind them.
Of course, the most annoying of this type are those who have just pushed in front of you at the previous intersection, only to hold you up for a second time.

I think it's funny when people carefully obey imaginary lanes on roundabouts - I always straight-line them.
