The interesting and frankly annoying thing about such programmes, and whenever Watchdog or similar report on it is that it is a simple, one way angle of 'look at the nasty people fining you'.

There is no actual discussion on improving the understanding of the public. I'd say PHers are more clued up than old Mrs Miggins but still, on this forum there are people with the genuine belief that when you park your car on someone's land there's not a contract in place as they've 'not signed anything'.

And that's the issue, there is never education about the very valid contractual situation.

If, before you park your car, you do so with the attitude of "This is someone else's land, I'll note their rules and abide by them." then you don't get a ticket. I've been driving 20 years, and never received a ticket - but then again I don't leave my car unless I check the rules for parking there.
