Ok bit of a odd one my brothers car has gone wrong and is not worth repairing due to its age etc ( citroen xsara) so my dad has kindly offered to buy him another shed but this is were it gets tricky no one knows who he insured the xsara with! I sorted out the original insurance and I have now forgotten who it was with, my brother renewed the insurance and has forgotten aswell!
Is there anyway of finding out who he is insured with via reg plate etc? As this is seriously hampering him getting a new car if we can't transfer over the old policy etc.

Surely he has an email or some paperwork?

Failing that have you checked bank statements.

you can fill in your reg here and pay the fee (£4 i think) and it will tell you the company it's insured with and the phone number.

Sounds like another thread subject right there :-)

You sound like you are well aware of what he's like.
Honestly, stop trying to help him out.

if he renewed his policy he should know when
does he pay monthly by dd?
or did he pay the whole lot upfront?
either way a bank statement will be online to look at.
had the same issue last year because i had just let my insurance auto renew.
i stopped that once and for all once i saw how much i was paying.
auto renew is the devils work.
look at bank statements it will show who you are paying.
