Why on earth not?
because its innocent till proven guilty in this country
Correct. Which is why, if you deny the offence, you'll get a day in court. You will get to present your evidence and question the prosecution evidence. The prosecution will present their evidence and question yours. Then the evidence will be assessed according to the burden of proof - beyond reasonable doubt. If the prosecution's case is judged to have met that standard, you will be found guilty and the sentence decided. If not, you will be found not guilty, and that's the end of it.

and a written statement by a policeman its necessarily an accurate account of events.
Is yours? Which do you think somebody who doesn't know you from Adam is more likely to find accurate?

Bear in mind that the magistrate knows damn well that prison is full of innocent men, and you are the 20th person that day to swear blind he didn't do it. 15 of them will be doing so in the face of photos showing they did.

maybe part of the evidence presented to the court could be this thread

in which you declare that you tried to pay the fpn at the time it was issued

which most magistrates would put on the guilty side of the scales

Is it really only £50 for fiddling with yourself in the car?

I hope this thread is not used as evidence as it will totally confuse the court, they will not have a clue whats going on,what the OP did wrong and think its a load of bo**ocks as I do.

because he said he was issuing me with a fpn of £50. Im not a career criminal and wasnt aware you just cant pay them on the spot. Seems stupid that tourists get preferential treatment on this.
Not really preferential, how else are you meant to summons someone to court if they live in France for example? I believe the fine is generally higher.

I'm going to go for the offence of 'toilet leaking on the road'.

Irrelevant what the minor offence was, the op is served with a fpn for £50 but no points are necessary, just another example off how the police in this country are no longer a crime fighting organisation but a revenue collection service.

confused What was it for? No MOT????
From memory of older threads on here from the OP, it's possibly going to be due to some form of poor vehicle maintenance. OP seems to have a habit of driving around in cars with missing or non working parts and then acting surprised when his local Police pull him over laugh

I'm surprised the OP's able to drive more than a few miles before being pulled over every day - certainly seems to be very unlucky hehegetmecoat

Or maybe that's why you're requesting all the info that the Police hold on file for you, on another thread a few lines further down on here, so you can try and figure out where they're going to be so you can stay one step ahead of them laughgetmecoat

If you didn't commit the 'offence' why did you try and pay the fine at the roadside?
