The only time I indicate when passing a parked car is if I've had to stop and wait for a gap in the traffic coming the other way.

Lets cars behind know what you're doing.

Welcome back Loon. Don't make it a one off.

You might like to re-read the highway code.
To what end exactly?

This !!! Do the people who do indicate to pass a parked vehicle all drive buses/hgv's ??

The op's first post "I thought you where indicating to turn right" is a prime example of the result of indicating to go past a parked car !!

If your approaching a parked car where Else will you go ??

Advanced driving lessons should be made compulsory .

It does not say you should indicate to go around parked cars, section 103 says make sure your signals will not confuse others.
The question is, will it be informative and can it be misunderstood. As you were not going to drive in to the parked car it is a given that you will go around it.

I indicate around parked cars or similar obstacles as well. I'm showing to following motorists that my course will change from staying within the marked lane: they might not have seen the parked car.
I agree, I would always indicate to show my intentions

from highway code

163

Overtake only when it is safe and legal to do so. You should
not get too close to the vehicle you intend to overtake
use your mirrors, signal when it is safe to do so, take a quick sideways glance if necessary into the blind spot area and then start to move out
He wasn't overtaking.

He must have been overtaking as the other car was moving as his front offside connects with my front nearside of the OP.
