Hi,
there is a seemingly abandoned car near my home, it hasn't moved for over a month so I just checked it's status via DVLA website and:

VU52 XYF
✗ Untaxed Tax due: 01 May 2015
✗ No MOT Expired: 24 March 2015

On the bright side at least it isn't being used in this state!
What should I do - dob them in to the PCSO or wait for something to happen?

If you want it moved, report it : https://www.gov.uk/report-abandoned-vehicle

(and we can see your username on the left - you don't need to repeat it at the bottom of your posts)

Thank you.
I'll report over use of my username at the same time ;-)

If it's on the road, report it to local council. If it's private land/private parking bay. Not much you can do.

No curtain twitching required because I walk past it most days; I wouldn't be bothered if it was on the owner's drive but it is on the public highway.

Also the car is making access difficult for the bin trucks.

I would not bother rising to this. Poster is a troll looking at past posts.

I had an old Volvo dumped in the yard of an industrial building I own and have up for sale. Called the local council, who asked me to write to them giving them authority to deal with it. I did this and it was removed by the council in a week.

There's an apparently-abandoned LDV van, one of the big ones, near me. Been there about a month. The cab is completely full of every manner of detritus, and the @rse of the van is sitting right down so I imagine the luggage area is equally stuffed. You can tell it never moves because the dust and weeds and rubbish are all building up around it's tyres.

I did consider reporting it, just in case someone's missing it, it's in a cul-de-sac where the BIB are not likely to see it as I doubt they patrol that road with any regularity, but then I thought, well, it's not outside my house, it's outside other peoples' so presumably if it's bothering them one of them will report it? That's not meant in a nimby way, just that if it's elsewhere it's not really any of my business.

If you want it, You could drag it to a police station and say 'look what I found' and then claim it after 3 months if no owner comes forward😄

Forget all the fancy websites. I've found 101 giving place datw dumped VRN etc, all they need.I'd reported it to a PCSO in a car, but a week later it was still there with no attention.Phoned 101 and next day it was gone.
But I'd check first with DVLA person that it is not taxed as it takes five days to update the online system.

Car dumped in out of way place ,where police don't often go . It could be your stolen P & J . Now you'd get upset if you got it back with no windows/wheels etc because someone passed by on the other side of the road.
