You have to be verrry careful on the M6 'twixt Stafford and Warrington at night now when progressing.
I try to avoid the M6, but always useful know.

Very reassuring to hear plod is out there, protecting us from Armageddon.

It does seem more than a bit strange that the police service says it can't cope with funding cuts, yet manages to run unmarked traffic cars on motorways in the dead of night.

Yes it was a grey 3 series 4 door saloon. No badge on the back. Sat in it for a little bit while we went through formalities with one officer while the other one checked my vehicle over which was obviously all in order.

As I said the police were nice, friendly and were fair. At the end of the day I was caught red handed and wasn't denying anything as there is no point. I knew what I had done and honesty gets you further!

Certainly won't be doing it again; can't afford the consequences. More track days and blasts across Germany to the ring from now on.

Whereabouts on the M27 was it if you don't mind me asking, I see those unmarked cars quite regularly along bits of it.

Best of luck for a reasonable outcome.

I see them quite regularly too, sadly normally on the hard shoulder with their lights on behind the car they've just pulled. As said 3 series or Octavias.

If you knew what I once escaped with, and a customer of mine has escaped with, in encounters with even fairer traffic plods, I think you'd be very much pissed off.

There was really no need to book you. I don't see them as fair at all.

I have met fairer Police before. But I will never argue and they are just doing a job.

OP If it makes you feel better a few years back I got pulled for just shy of 100 in a 50 and was let off with a severe telling off.

Me: Male 20's not butch but didnt cry to get away with it either....

To be fair I also got pulled for 90 in a 70 got a verbal warning and got a ticket for 10mph over in a roadworks and got off that one scot free as well....

Hefty fine. 3 points and a 6 month ban. £200 in 1985. Get a solicitor and it won't happen. Germany. Please think of the children. Welcome to Pistonheads.

Even stranger that at a time when criminals are moving about in an area with plenty of nasty accidents happening and p!ssheads roaming about and you think they shouldn't be out there confused

I used to work in the motor trade and have been banned for speeding on 4 occassions. Neither nor big, nor clever, but it is what it is.

Haven`t been nicked in 7 years now and never take the cruise above 70 on the motorway as a rule. A combination of growing up and having my daughter on board.

Only ever late at night on a deserted motorway in a vehicle comfortably capable of the speed/conditions. Also always employed a brief, wore a suit and kissed arse.

As a guide, received the following:

A1M - 126mph - 2002 - 1 week ban - £1600 fine
A1M - 138mph - 2004 - 2 week ban - £1100 fine
M1 - 133mph - 2005 - 4 week ban - £450 fine
A1M - 128mph - 2008 - 30 day ban - £850 fine

I find the whole, hold your hands up, admit your an idiot patter to work.

Personally I was always grateful for a short ban and not having silly amounts of points to worry about for years. Also I just employed someone to ferry me about, much cheaper than you`d imagine!

Good luck fella thumbup

A mate got done in very similar circumstances, early morning, 126 on M4. Also company director, job not at risk.

56 day ban and disposable income related fine.

Used a solicitor with knowledge of local judges/courts.

G.

ETA to say this was 2013.

I think this might have been me. You sure it was grey. I was out working but was in a dark blue 3 series M27 Pompey/Eastleigh.
