speeding at 113 mph
Discussion
Thanks for the helpful replies guy's, i was on the m6 toll at a quite time, not making excuses but genuinely didn't realise i was doing that speed, knew i was doing above 70. I'm not going to give any excuses in the mitigation letter, just try and be apologetic. Not looking forward to it :roll eyes:

Think the first post is best.If it was me I would appear in person suited and sheepish with a solicitor to speak for me - damage limitation is the plan .

Hi guy's
New on here but looking for some advice
In novenmber 2014 i was caught speeding at 113mph on the m6 toll road, a few weeks ago i had the summons saying i have a court date on august 28th. It's given me the option to plead guilty by post or i can attend court, i was going to plead guilty by post. It's also says about my expenses then they can decide how much fine to give me. I suppose my question is, do you think i will get a ban or as being i have the option to plead guilty by post i may just get a fine, or even both, i have 3 points now and had 6 at the time. i know know one can give me the correct answer but has anyone had a similar experience? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
The dates should be looked at closely. Is it a summons or a postal requisition? Increasingly uncommon to see a summons. Wouldn't surprise me if a postal requisition was served too late.New on here but looking for some advice

Plead guilty by post and your case will be adjourned for you to attend in person. You're simply delaying an inevitable court appearance. Although, there can be tactical reasons not to appear. You've read far too much into the standard wording about pleading guilty by post.
You're looking at a ban of at least six months if 6 penalty points are imposed. The points at the time of the offence are relevant, not the 'live' points when you attend court months later. A disqualification can, however, be avoided if your case is dealt with carefully.
Whatever happens, you'll be fined based on your income. It's a fine and a ban, or a fine and points. And costs, and a surcharge.
If you're banned for the index offence then, for reference, the guideline ban for speeds of 101-110mph is 7-56 days, but plainly that doesn't apply to you as you were going a bit faster. There isn't a national guidleline for 113 mph.

Take this man up on his offer, if you haven't already. One of a very small, and decreasing, number of people in this section who know what they're about and may be able to offer you realistic options to minimise the damage resulting from your transgression.
