...i was on the m6 toll at a quite time, not making excuses but genuinely didn't realise i was doing that speed, knew i was doing above 70.
Assuming this thread is indeed genuine, I recommend that you do not use that comment in your defence.

I wouldn't charge for an initial assessment of the case. A bit late now though.

Is the case at Wirral Magistrates' court?

Surely, if you're livelihood is in jeopardy, you'd take all the help and advice you could get, even if it cost you £20 or a few beers

Just a quick question, as I understood it if you don't receive a notice of within Two weeks for cameras & 6 Months in the case of being stopped I had this happen to me I received the letter 6 months & 2 weeks later & my Solicitor had the case dismissed.

Hi guy's

New on here but looking for some advice

In novenmber 2014 i was caught speeding at 113mph on the m6 toll road, a few weeks ago i had the summons saying i have a court date on august 28th. It's given me the option to plead guilty by post or i can attend court, i was going to plead guilty by post. It's also says about my expenses then they can decide how much fine to give me. I suppose my question is, do you think i will get a ban or as being i have the option to plead guilty by post i may just get a fine, or even both, i have 3 points now and had 6 at the time. i know know one can give me the correct answer but has anyone had a similar experience? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance
I can't offer any legal advice , but I can perhaps offer a shred of hope by relating my own similar experience .

This took place quite a number of years ago , but it was a sunny summer Sunday morning , around 06:00 , and I found myself on the deserted A1M near Northallerton on my way to a meeting of my car club at Harewood House . For no particular reason , other than a clear , empty road and perfect conditions , I decided to try my car out and see what she would do ; I hadn't gone far when , suddenly , there were blue lights behind , so I slowed and pulled over . In the car the policeman explained I had passed him ( he'd been hiding behind a wall ) and he'd measured my average speed with his Vascar equipment at 111.2

This being the first time I had ever been in any kind of trouble I asked how things would then go and he explained I could plead guilty by letter or attend court . I didn't see any point in contesting it , so I pled guilty by letter , stating that I could offer no excuse , that it was the first time I had ever been stopped for anything , that it was a departure from my normal conduct which I very much regretted and apologised for .

It must have made a good impression with the magistrate as I received 'only' an £82 fine ( £2 for each mph over the limit ) and three points .

I think nowadays a short ban ( maybe a month ? ) is the more usual disposal for such an offence , but I'd suggest to keep your penalty to a minimum , be contrite , don't make up excuses ( every one of which they've heard before - unless you really were taking your wife to deliver your first child , about the only one which might work , if true ) , don't waste their time and just throw yourself on the mercy of the court .
