should get a long ban in my opinion

your excuse is that you did not see/expect a speed trap in that area which makes it's even worse suggesting you drive at those speeds all the time and its not 'fair' you were caught?

i'm no angel and do break speed limits WITHIN REASON but 85 in a 30 zone is far from reasonable

perhaps daddy should not have bought you such a car?

In the parallel universe that exists in his own mind maybe.

In the real world he's waiting for his mummy to come home and cook him lunch.

Then he can go out and play.

There are now an awful lot of speed limits that in no way reflect the road they are on.
Purely out of interest in view of the above comment, the well-known stretch of road below was subject to a 30mph limit at the time. It may still be a 30 limit.

Wow.

What relevance does that have at all?

The guys a plum for driving quick, your generalisations/assumptions about his ethnicity are embarrassing.

no - its a bloody fact

first hand experience from a friend who was an insurance broker in Bradford - his 'clients' had multiple accounts and when challenged told 'you lot think we all look the same'

its true

...If the OP can get up to 85 (probably showing 90), the limit is probably a lot too low.
I own a car that could easily do 100mph through sections of our city so is the 30mph speed limit a lot too low there also? confused

I think 100+ in a 30 deserves a bit of stick don't you ?

the speedo was easily showing 100mph + as i was going down hill and braked as hard as i could.

I don't need any sympathy i just need to find out what's going to happen and why they have had no contact with me in 8 months, After they sent out the NIP in my name.
would be helpful to include a google map of the exact location you were zapped

Do you have any other mitigating circumstances , Time of day / Night , traffic on the road at the time , was it single or double carriageway etc.
Your job , do you n

When you do get the summons date , either get a brief , or if representing yourself
wear a suit look smart , and eat lots of humble pie

be prepared for a fair sized fine probable ban
when I was 19 many moons ago , I was caught at 56 in a 30 ..........I got a year ban it was my first offence. Poole magistrates court
every other person in court that day was getting year bans for DD
I appealed , was out of work at the time. got a barrister legal aid It went to Bournemouth Crown court I had served a 28 day ban , I got my licence back that same day .

To the OP

I can't tell if you are genuine or not but that sort of speed in a 30 limit is pretty stupid.

I just hope to god that you don't have a PH sticker on your car because that sort of driving just gives us all a bad name.

Many of us do speed from time to time - we're no angels but you won't get much sympathy on here.

Haters are going to hate I admit I was very stupid and shouldn't of ever done that kind of speed in a 30mph zone it was ridiculous and I am going to pay the price for doing it lol

But maybe it's gave me the wake up call i needed.

Interesting, where's that then? Does it get busy at all, must be. Reason.

Heading west out of London, not far from some "secure accommodation".

When it's busy you'll be making progress at 20mph with nothing else possible.

At other times the 30 limit seemed...curious. I've been travelling at 30mph on that stretch with weather and road conditions as per the pic, and been overtaken all the way at high relative speeds. However I wouldn't do so (exceed the limit) because of the risk i.e. the risk of a painful day of reckoning in Court, it's an exposed stretch.

OP should contact his local court to see if the information has been laid within six months of the date of the alleged offence.

If yes, he can prepare for the worst.

If no, buy a lottery ticket.

And here was me worried at the lack of casual racism in this thread. Well done, sir. You've restored that warm, best of British, NP&E glow.
