yes, definitely. At least one credit card, one debit card, two new PINs and one telephone banking security number in the last 2 weeks.

today's exciting installment.. Hid out in the hallway with a better camera so i could try and get a face on picture of him, but with the CCTV camera hidden to watch him go in to the mailboxes.

I saw someone approach, different clothes this time so i was only 90% sure. I held the shutter button down and let it burst off a few pictures and then called the police. When i walked out the front door he was pretending to put leaflets through the letter boxes which then made me doubt myself, but i thought i'd follow him and stayed on the phone to the police... got to the end of the road and there's a policewoman and a CPSO walking towards me. I put my window down and start shouting to get their attention. They're more interested that i'm using my phone whilst driving. Guy gets away.

To be fair to them, i wasn't 100% confident that it was him so that i could say for sure to arrest him.

Then i looked back at my pictures. Definitely him. Has the key in his hand as well. On looking back at the CCTV, he's doing every mailbox this time too.

Got this though, and with the key in his hand.

removed, sorry!

Have had the police round on two occasions and they've seen everything i've got - to be fair though, the ones that could have stopped him today were a bit more interested.

but their issue with it is that i can't prove he has stolen mail! None of what i've got so far is considered proof.

You need his address and some proof he has be lurking around your mail box
eh, did you miss the rest of the thread?? His address would be great... As would a name. However, i kind of feel like i've done enough investigating here.

Not much to update today.. I was hovering about the streets looking for him, but didn't see him. However, i'm 70% sure he was parked in a car across the road for about 40 mins. He didn't go near because he would have seen the property management company round to clean the mailboxes and windows, and perhaps even saw me.

sounds about right!

Yes, i have a reg plate. Could be him, but i can't be certain. He was dressed the same as he was on Monday and Tuesday when he came, and was definitely wearing the same sunglasses.

I'm now fairly certain that the car that was parked yesterday belonged to the guy.

I was out last night, but came home in the early hours of the morning to a letter slid under my door from the woman downstairs. He had turned up at 1730 to try his luck then, but she chased him off.

Not sure if he'll be back at his regular time today, but as I'm a little hungover I'll probably work from home again and have a look out.

I just realised i didn't explain why i thought it was his car yesterday.. I was standing at the end of my street so that i could see the mailboxes, but could hide round the corner and start the call to the police without him hearing and hopefully be in a better position to follow him.. Unfortunately the property management company had turned up and were cleaning the door, hall and mailboxes and were there for a good 30 minutes right at the exact time that he should have been there.

After it got to 2 o'clock i realised that he probably wasn't going to show up - but also realised that the car i was standing beside had someone in it. The window was open a bit, and the guy inside was dressed exactly the same as the guy i saw on on Mon/Tue. I couldn't see his face because the drivers window was tinted (the passenger window wasn't!). I walked away to then try and keep my eye on the car and see if he would get out, but he didn't. I walked back to the car, but he had now put the window up and i couldn't see in.

Called the police and asked them to attend - they'd be there within an hour. He drove off a few minutes later after he saw me going back in to the flat.

I think that's why he came back at 1730.. when my neighbour saw him and chased him away.

regarding the mailboxes - this is all in hand. I'm not sure what we will end up with, but at the very least they will be much more secure than what we have just now. The property management company were out today to see what their options would be.

I have responded to the empathetic letter i got from the police with all of the detail that i have..

i was genuinely considering it - as well as putting the pictures in the letter box, but i am ultimately trying to get this guy caught and not just have him disappear for a while. My neighbours have been telling me that this has been going on (on and off) for the last two years.. and i'm inclined to believe it's the same guy each time.

Saw him completely by chance today as he was about to go and have a bash. He clocked my other half coming down the stairs and then walked off. Followed him, saw him get in to the car I was suspicious of the other day and he just sat there. He didn't see me so I called the police and waited for them to arrive.

Arrested at his car today shortly after midday. The police came round with the keys they found on him which, surprise surprise, opened all of our mailboxes.
