It's police and dismissal for Gross Misconduct too I'd wager.
Is chopping a colleague with a meat cleaver really gross misconduct?
What would you call it? A minor disciplinary issue?
I think it demonstrates passion - a good thing in the workplace. Employees should be 'edgy'.

I know a Glaswegian chef. I have no reason to doubt the story.

Nor I. I was asked to bring a claim against an employer who had dismissed two chefs for Gross Misconduct - "my" one however had only gone and got a knife "because Mr XXX had a knife", therefore he felt he should not have been dismissed, just the other guy. They were outside the back of the pub trying to stab each other...... I declined to take on this case...

My family wants the police involved so it seems to be going that way.
The mad thing is the guys wife has just given birth and his other child is under three .
Fred West had children too, sounds like you are defending him or have already forgiven him

Remember the guy who posted on one of the Evo forums a couple of years ago saying he had been slashed by a samurai? sword or shot or something similar, and even posted faked photo's of his very serious injuries.

Wanted to be a hero.

I had a nasty paper cut in the work place once, but because I am rocky tough I didn't go on about it all over the internet, even though it was quite hurty for at least thirty seconds or so. Me, I'm nails, me.

PS: I did call the cops, however. Our stationery manager was sent down for twenty years of hard Federal time. Fiat justitia, eh?

Wouldn't the ambulance service (or hospital) have informed plod, regardless of OP's wishes?

I can't imagine how the injury could be explained to the medics as anything other than what it was and, as far as I understand it, they have to inform the BiB.

Does everyone involved have a legal right to work in this country? Maybe that's why no-one seems to want BiB involved?

It's fairly easy to photograph a screen. A modern phone will do a reasonable capture, providing you keep the flash off. Not medical or broadcast quality, but certainly good enough to satisfy the PH mobs.

I would happily accept a photo of a bandaged arm in a hospital, next to some of those natty chequered chef shoes and some Birds.

I'm glad some others have called this. As soon as I thread the post it was clearly bull. 74 months and 72 posts is the usual giveaway. I'd love to know which corner of the DarkWeb is selling longstanding, low post count PH usernames to children for a small fee.

I see the OP has vanished, which is a shame as I'd love to know how screwing his elbow back together panned out.
