NIP 37 in 30.

Got NIP today for doing 37 in 30. What to expect? 3/6 points? Fine? All done over email or need to appear in court? Thanks.

Fill in the form naming the driver
You will receive either an offer of a speed awareness course or something telling you you need to surrender your licence for the endorsement of 3 points and £100. Its all on the form, it tells you what to do.

Form is already sent back. I wanted to hear experiences of what most people get. SAC or £100/3points. If it makes a difference it's Northamptonshire Const.

I got SAC for 37 in 30 (West Mercia)

Yes, just been on the phone to a very nice lady. Since no points ever, I'll get option of SAC + £90 or 3points + £100 or contest in court. SAC it is. Job done.

Seems an awful lot of people getting stung at 37 in a 30. Wouldn't put it past them if they added a few mph onto the real speed to catch a few plebs

Speed awareness course for me for the same offence.

My wife also got caught at the same speed and same fixed camera. When the NIP came to me I sent it back stating she was driving. Same letter arrives a week later addressed to the wife asking who was driving. How long do you think you could keep that up before its noticed.

Do you really think they need to? 37 is probably 38-40 indicated speed and plenty drive round at about an indicated 10 mph over the limit.

Apparently they do have photographic evidence. That particular day I was running slightly late, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was 40 indicated. Is SA Course whole day event?

Mine was 9.30 until 12 (might have been 12.30).
Bit annoying as its as good as a full day off work.

I always use cc wherever I can, even through town where it's 20.

Having said I know it's easy to creep over 30 on manual.

It's supposed to be a little inconvenient in one way or the other, as it is an offence that you've committed.

You won't have a choice about taking them if it's in the three years since the last one.
