I doubt they are breaking the law; the goods are fit for purpose, the colour match being secondary to their primary purpose?
(I am not a lawyer). You have received and accepted some compensation?

Annoying, yes.

As a recent(ish) parent myself I think you have your priorities all messed up. If it was a safety issue then sure, but it's a minor colour match issue that will be gone inside a year (when you have upgraded the car seat) - not to mention the colour correction that your newborn will have completed via bodily fluids.

Life is too short. Go and take lots of pics and enjoy fatherhood. smile

Is this linked to your OCD?

wink

These things happen but God it's annoying. As stupid as this sounds, I don't have the same motivation to keep it pristine as I know it's been damaged - damn OCD!

I agree with my brother, Realist.

The appropriate amount of sympathy for your ridiculous over-reaction is best illustrated thus;

In your position, though I wouldn't waste a grand on a pram/car seat in the first place, I certainly wouldn't waste what is clearly a lot of time and energy on such a trivial matter.
Sadly I am just about to shell out 1k on a pram. I will not be pleased if it doesn't match though and would also be inclined to ask the seller if they can provide a matching set..... That is as far as I would go however, but I can see why the OP is peeved.

So can I. But I'd just take it back and go elsewhere...

I'm not sure what he's after?

My ridiculous over-reaction? In what way did I over-react?

If this thread is not a spoof then I want to stab myself in the eyes with needles in order to stop me ever again having to see such nonsense.

Don't go throwing your toys out of the pram with the mismatched raspberry.

From an intelligent man, I fail to see where you are coming from. It may not be at the cutting edge of major world issues but £1k is a lot of money to my wife and I and as such, we expected the pram to to be as described. For such a company to say that this has been a major issue for them and that they are aware of the problem got me thinking about whether they were acting within the law to continue selling such items without making potential buyers aware of the colour match issue.

From my perspective, I'm the first to laugh at myself and poke some fun at others but my feeling is that too many of the users, both new and old alike are very quick to ridicule and or belittle others.

Honestly I'm not sure why you're copping so much grief on this.

You'd expect a "matching set" to match regardless of cost and a grand isn't cheap.

Is this an all in one travel system? So are the two different bits together and therefore the colour difference is obvious or are they used seperately? Are they advertised as an exact match?

It isn't a major issue. Failing to connect to Isofix is a major issue. A colour difference is an annoyance, for which you have been compensated?

This is PH, a car related website, not really a place to obsess about colour variations in upholstery. Thus the OP should expect a degree of joshing. Hardly 'so much grief'.

The simple answer was to return it to Boots, get a refund and buy elsewhere.

Jesus fking christ
is this for real?
what fking law do you think they are breaking by selling products which are not a fking exact colour match?

Can anyone be that much of a fking fktard that they think a crime has been committed because something they bought was not the exact shade of plum they were expecting?

There have been many questionable, and some even frankly retarded threads on this forum, but this takes the fking biscuit

fking fk, i obviously have been trolled

Sue everybody and then sue them some more. Definitely try to get really worked up about it.
Are you finding you're a bit, you know, emotional due to lack of sleep and colour worries?
