Posting this out of interest chaps.

My wife and I recently spent a small fortune on a pram and integrated car seat. We bought the items though Boots but noticed that the car seat's 'raspberry' colour was a different shade from the raspberry pram colour - which are supposed to be an exact colour match. Boots referred us to the manufacturer who, after several weeks of complaints, calls and e-mails from my wife, finally made a gesture of goodwill today (a free parasol and changing bag).

The initial complaint revolved around the colour mismatch but with the customer service being shocking from what is a multi-million pound company, the content of the complaint revolved around the colour mismatch and a lack of communication from the company etc.

During two calls, the company has acknowledged that the colour mismatch is a major issue for them and they have effectively known about it for some time. This is despite the fact that there is no warning that there may be an issue on their own or any third party websites.

They even advised that the parasol and bag might not match the original items and that they would replace them with the black version if necessary. A good outcome for us in that we have saved £70 but I can't believe that a company of this caliber would continue to sell what they recognise as faulty items.

Are they in effect breaking the law by continuing to knowingly sell the items in question?
I'm sorry, but it's a rofl from me...

OP it's cute that your biggest worry with your kid at the moment is this.

Believe me in a few months you will be too busy getting the sick and poo out of your clothes to even worry about what colour your car seat is. Also it won't be "raspberry" for long.

Don't forget the unidentifiable "goo" from around the car seat.

OP - and I mean this in all seriousness - if you are OCD as you referenced in your other thread, then some urgent therapy might be needed... at least to survive the first few years...

I honestly don't get the lack of sympathy (and veiled insults) the OP is getting - if a member bought a car with a factory fitted aero kit that didn't match the body colour and the manufacturer admitted they knew it was a common fault, I'm pretty sure many PHers would be up in arms about it and one in particular would be offering their legal help for free. wink

Why does that change because it's a pram and not a car that has a colour mis-match? confused

Some members need a reality check - many people view the level of obsession we have over cars to be OCD and beyond ridiculous. People in glass houses... wink

Because the pillock spent a grand on a pram and baby seat.

So what? How much did you spend on your cars and how much of a pillock does that make you?

Its ok. in a couple of years someone will remind him of this thread and he will see what we are all on about.

His OCD about this will be seen in the cold light of "having had children" and this will either make him cringe or reminisce about his lost tidiness.

Also, A GRAND ON A SEAT AND PRAM ?

You WILL be buying a cheap stroller and using that while the mega buck pram sits gathering dust. Its ok, we were all there once.

Anyone else been looking through boots to find them?

I don't know how I could live with knowing some one might see the pram and carseat nearby, notice the colour difference and probably start laughing at me.

I'm emotionally upset now at the thought of it, so if you go down the legal route, let me know as I'm due a bit of damages too.

Here is the correct PH answer for the OP..

Surely one should take the items to a trusted vehicle trimmer and have them redone in materials that should befit such an esteemed baby carriage.

Amazing how judgemental some people can be and yet not realise their hypocrisy. You call him out on his pointless OCD and yet:

OP, after nine months our pram never gets used, we take the pushchair (£60)-also, he outgrew the integrated 0/1 car seat and so we just had to spend £390 on a ERF seat.
Do the two components actually get used together?

Well potentially its not like a car as the two bits afre not generally seen next to each other, unlike bits of a car.

So that explains how one (the aero kit) is absolutely justified as a complaint and the other (the pram) should be ridiculed?

Seems pretty odd logic to me - we don't even know which pram we're talking about - but then this thread is full of it, so what do I know?

It is more easily done than you might think. Our car seat (about to be purchased) is £400. And I still have chills when I recall what the price is of the pram we "have to have" for dog walking....

Not to mention that the decision process typically involves a highly hormonal woman who is the size of a whale and hasn't been feeling/sleeping well for months.

You take your dog out in a pram?
