Suck it up you ignorant sod, pay up like a good boy and be thankful these businesses have provided such a facility in the first place.

What is your major malfunction?

Why do you think you have the right to park anywhere you like?

Another wibblist demanding free access for everyone. Bet he'd get upset if I wandered into his house and set up home.

Of course they're going to agree, this site is full of divorced, angry little men moaning about swt's, who's main aim is to put a price on everything, business, business, business and not a lot else fills their life.
Or people who understand that they are a member of society and try to contribute to it, rather than demanding it pander to their selfish ideas.

Do you run an open house? Do you let people camp in your back garden? Do you offer your spare room to homeless people? If not why not?

Yep pretty much an open house,no iron gates with eagles here.

I'm on an I phone so not trawling through to find it. Irrespective of that it's a fair assumption that someone who is so actively opposed to private landowners being able to enforce who parks on their land is in favour of being able to park where they like.

No red mist. Calm yourself down dear and stop shouting my posts

Good effort but not what I asked. Go into your town centre, find a homeless person and put them up until they're back on their feet and repeat indefinitely, then I'd be impressed. At the moment you've picked an isolated incident for a family member and made it out to be the ultimate sacrifice.

I know, someone once pulled that line out on me and I was nearly sick hehe

The sentiment is correct though, I have not said or implied that I expect to park wherever I like for free at any point. You invented that bit.

Here is your first post on this thread. It was also the first answer on the thread.

Been done by one of those, waiting for a response for my appeal. Won't be paying.
Whilst that doesn't represent everywhere, it does clearly suggest that you have parked somewhere that you shouldn't have and have decided that you expect to be able to do so for free.

There is a fair logic flow here that would suggest that you would repeat the exercise elsewhere and act in the same manner with any subsequent fine / invoice /request for payment *

Why do these threads always run to eleventy billion pages?

How about everyone posting that they should be able to park where they like, posts their home addresses. We'll all dump cars in their drive way or on their front lawn?

Bugger me thats original, why hasnt anyone mentioned that before? How about next time you invite your cleaner/workmen/plumber round to your house you tell them they've got 30 mins free parking then you'll start charging-see how you get on.

If they're working on my house i'd fully expect to be giving them more than enough parking time to do the work.

I wouldn't expect to have them on my drive for 8 hours while they put a kitchen in the house across the street.

How's that even relevant?

how about the cleaner dumps her car in your drive then pops in to town shopping for a couple of hours?
Yup,
That IS closer to the reality of the situation around parking on private property for purposes outside of its clearly intended use.

Which is exactly what Lidl are doing. Free parking for those shopping there. Those that aren't pay for their parking.
