AUDI SQ5 Dash cam footage Dangerous overtake (reg number removed) Somerset

Had a dash cam in one of my cars for a while but put one in my other car transcend 200.

This is what I caught today.

Maybe if you hadn't squeezed up behind the little van to keep him out he would have just pulled past you and dropped into what was quite a big gap, like you had just done?

Looks like you accelerated to prevent the merge. Why did you do that?

If you could explain to us why you stuck the boot down to try and put the Audi into a head on collision with oncoming traffic that would be great thanks.

There are arrows showing that L2 is closing.

Wouldn't it have been safer for the Audi to move from L2 to L1 rather than overtake when he must have known L2 was closing?

OP tries to cause a head-on collision and posts the video to criticise someone else. Hand in your licence and take a look at yourself!

But then he would be behind a lower being and have failed to show their obvious social and financial dominance over other road users.

ANOTHER example of how a dashcam makes drivers think they can behave how they want as the camera will be their proof.

Bad driving by the Audi pushing in. Really bad driving by the OP realising what was happening, made it much worse.

Stupid driving.

I pulled away from the lights with brisk acceleration moved across and was slowing down due to slower moving van when the Audi decided to go on the overtake. He could of tucked in behind me or the slow moving van rather than do that

Nope that Audi would not have stayed behind the little van thing. He was off into the distance at some rate, he'd have done both of them regardless of what the OP did. Typical stereotype Audi idiot IMO. Even so OP should not have closed the gap (if that's what actually happened, with cams it can be misleading)

Yeah and of course he was also to blame for the audi knobber dangerously overtaking the fiesta as well.

He did that as he got involved in a battle of wits with the OP.

The two of them are in the wrong. I'm not excusing what the Audi driver did, but the OP more than played his part in that.

The Audi went for a late pass, but the OP made the pass attempt a race.

If the OP didn't speed up like he did, the Audi could have passed with ease and pulled in safely. He ended up arriving at the back of the Fiesta way too quickly knowing another car was racing him up the inside.

Stupid all round.

Roll your eyes at me all you want, you plonker. He made things far worse by accelerating to cut the Audi off. At no point did I say anything like your wibble above.

To me it looks like it was the cars in front of OP that were "slowing" rather than OP "shutting the door".

Look at the 2nd overtake by the Audi. There was enough space for him to squeeze in front of OP but he was determined to carry out a second, even more lunatic, overtake. Or are people suggesting that OP forced Audi to do the 2nd overtake as well?

You forgot the bit about noticing the Audi overtaking so put your foot down to prevent him pulling in.

You hung him out to dry, nice one dick head.

I pulled away from lights in lane 2 briskly.

when I saw I was closing on the slow moving fiesta I started slowing down. If I didn't want the audi to overtake i could of stayed over and controlled the road space. I can see the are some judge, jurors and executioners on this site who have decided and dapped the throttle to close the gap but I was acceralting from the lights all the time. The audi decided last minute to boot it probably due to superior car, hair style who knows what else.

I got it though no more overtakes for me will just poodle and if I see an audi 's' car closing on me i will slam the brakes as if its an ambulance and need to make room for the to pass safely otherwise they may pass like this. He/she carried on driving like and did an overtake approaching a roundabout when he was 9 cars ahead.

If i upload the full clip it may help to show my pace and I was slowing down when they decided to pass>
