It's Another "Driving To The MOT" Question!

Hopefully this is something someone can give me a yes/no answer on, preferably with a specific reference to where it's defined (because I either can't find it or am failing to see the wood for the trees).

I am allowed to drive a car without an MOT to a pre-booked MOT (or to somewhere to repair it if it's failed, but that's not a major issue here). Fine with that, and that was my original intent.

However, am I allowed to drive the car to the garage the day before, to leave the car with them? Due to work commitments and the like, I'm finding it difficult to be able to get there before their last appointment time, and they're happy enough for me to drop it off like that.

I am driving to a pre-booked appointment, and the car will not be on the road except to drive to the garage where this appointment is booked, so as far as I can tell I'm ok, but is there a "same day" clause I'm missing?
