Some advice from people in the know.

Father in law receives a letter from company stating that he owes them money for a claim he hasn't asked for. They state he owes them £150 for not providing details on a claim they have open on him.

Now the facts.

He has never asked them to look at this and the claim is against an account he has never had.

I know its all crap and they won't be getting anything but I do enjoy annoying them.

So rang them this morning stating that he has not had contact with them and he also never had this account. They said I need to right a letter to with his signature on to then give me authorisation to talk about his account. I stated that they can't have his signature and I won't be doing this. Asked to speak to someone higher and nothing said they would call back.

yep no call back.

Shall I just bin it and ignore or can I play them at their own game.

CMC's can hold you accountable for their fee's IF they have a signed contract.

In this case it sounds like they have nothing of the sort.

So in my opinion (work within the industry) Bin it and ignore. unless you have time to waste then go crazy.
