Tiny detail- I didn't lose. You never showed where I said what was claimed, mainly because I didn't say it.

Based on this, GFY.

My thoughts entirely!
You two are not being very constructive Recruiting Sergeants for the Special Constabulary with that attitude are you?

You'll get on message with the Big Society concept double sharpish like if you know what's good for you.

It's bad enough knowing that Specials work for free while police HR bosses have blues and twos fitted to their company cars to reduce their tax bill without you two displaying a negative attitude like that.

Phew! This is getting boring now. It isnt like anyone was conscripted into the police. If you dont like it look for a different job.

I wonder why we dont see any threads opened by teachers, doctors and even soldiers moaning continuosly.

If the police spent as much effort doing their job as they do moaning, we would have a very fine police service.
You're missing the point, probably deliberately. This thread is about RETIRED police and military becoming Specials.

Arrse, Rum Ration and others. The Military are as pissed off and contemptuous of this Government as we are. You can read the forums or listen to those serving for the facts. It's just not fashionable for the hypocritical bigots we know as 'the usual suspects' to search out facts that contradict their warped point of view.

As for the air ambulance donation. Still a total crash and burn for the bigoted one.

Read what I wrote, its not my attitude but the attitude of the RETIRED officers that I know.

XCP is a retired officer so he can think what he wants.

Does that settle your concern? Although I think its ridiculous that the police have to ask retired staff to come back. Especially following A19 when good officers were forced to retire. And thats why they wouldnt give them the time of day now that they have left.

Thanks for the clarification. I was imagining you storing the steam from your urine in an NPIA branded thermos.

Not at all.

The moaners on here probably dont want to go back...thats fine.

Bigends is a former officer who has gone back in a civillian role albeit a paid one. There must be a good number of good officers who wont think twice about helping out for free.

The ones who keep moaning on here are the ones who are resistant to change. They want the waste to continue where they are paid overtime for doing nothing. They are the types who hate that CCTVs were introduced in police stations as they could not beat up suspects anymore. They are the type that do not want higher educational requirements introduced.

The quicker this breed are gone, the better for the police service.

Let's go through his little diatribe bit by bit:

. . . the ones who are resistant to change.

Most officers want reform. I don't speak with as many officers as I used to, but from what I gather, they are desperate for reform. It is the government that is resistant.

. . . They want the waste to continue . . .

I'm not sure where that one comes from.

. . . paid overtime for doing nothing . . .

Cor! Those were the days, whenever they were.

. . . the types who hate that CCTVs were introduced in police stations as they could not beat up suspects anymore . . .

It was solicitors down my way who were against CCTV in all areas of the station, especially the cell block and particularly the interview rooms. Probably because it would show the police not beating suspects.

. . . They are the type that do not want higher educational requirements introduced . . .

Big difference between no wanting it and ridiculing such a pathetic suggestion.

Did I miss anything?

Quite.
I probably spent as much time as anyone working in custody with CCTV. ( 8 years). Nothing but good as far as I am concerned. Particularly the individual who was recorded kicking me in the gentlemans region. Still, what do I know....

I went back into the job in a paid role as an investigator on the same unit i'd retired from. There was a change in conditions and I moved into my current role. I was only 49 when I retired with two young kids so needed to keep working.
I and 99.9% of retired officers I work with or meet up with regularly wouldnt carry out any unpaid work for the force - theyve already had their two pennyworth out of us and left many bent and broken.
We have recently taken on a number of temporary staff through an agency and retired cops from all previous ranks and positions are queuing out of the door for paid positions -but unpaid - and back in uniform - not a chance

Its been 21 months since we requested for CCTV footage from a custody suite. It should have been honoured in 40 days.

Their deadline for providing the video under disclosure is in about 3 weeks. Lets see what excuse they come up with.

How often do you hold club meetings with your mate 'the man'. You know, where you search for articles that are years old, but only articles that suit your agenda. Do you have little ring binders, or do you use a card system.

You are an absolute parody poster

How does this undermine what Derek said? It shows, quite correctly, what occurred at a charge desk. Good.
Derek was referring to solicitors not liking videoed interviews. The same way they don't like audio taped interviews being played in court presumably.

I can think of a few other words to describe him.

Although I hazard a guess he wouldn't say boo to a goose or step in to help someone I trouble. Much better to post about how he watched it happen and there were no police around to tell them how to do their job.
