Crime against the easily offended with Twitter and Facebook accounts contrary to Section 54 of the Modern Britain (Mouthbreathers with Internet) Act 2012

He's a vile, bigoted man and doesn't deserve to have been nominated for SPOTY; it'll be a disgrace if he wins. If Klitschko fails to beat him in the rematch, I look forward to Anthony Joshua putting him in his place (provided AJ is given time to develop properly) when they finally meet.

Regardless of the bravado seen on here, comments like, "I'm not sexist. I believe a woman's best place is in the kitchen and on her back. That's my personal belief. Making me a good cup of tea, that's what I believe." have no place in today's world.

I believe the hate crime has been reported in response to Fury basically saying homosexuality and abortion were as bad as paedophilia. I wouldn't see that as him having committed a hate crime however it does go to show what a nasty, misguided and uneducated piece of work he is.

The police / CPS and wider Criminal Justice System are inconsistent with the wording 'hate crime' and 'hate incident'. The only hate crime we have in statute is racially and racially aggravated assaults, public order, criminal damage and harassment offences under the Crime and Disorder Act 1998.

There is no crime of homophobia / disability. However, it does aggravate any offence which is motivated by targeting the offence because of things such as their sexual orientation / disability and other aspects.

The CPS cover it here: http://www.cps.gov.uk/publications/equality/hate_c...

This leaflet on the CPS's policy is titled 'hate crime', but then goes on to more accurately talk of a 'hate incident': http://www.cps.gov.uk/publications/prosecution/hom...

Firstly, of course, has the man even committed a crime? I don't think so. I think this is the orignal interview: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/boxing/article-33...

He wasn't even in the UK.

Secondly, who cares and why are GMP wasting their time taking a statement? What is it going to say?

"Well I was reading the Daily Mail and read this thing that offended me. I want to make a complaint to the police".

Of course he hasn't.

He's no worse than hundreds of other blokes spouting rubbish down in the vault at their boozer every weekend.

This PC stuff these days is ridiculous, he's allowed an opinion like everybody else, even if it is nonsense.

Credit to him for a great fight, well done.

Directed at Lennox Lewis wasn't it?

I think he's a tt but he didn't actually say that. He said that "end of times" will come when those three things were legal. Two of them already are, and the world will end when paedophilia joins them as an accepted legal activity.

He didn't say they were comparable. I think shoplifting and genocide should both be illegal. But I don't think one is as serious as the other.

He really isn't. Let's see how many successful defences of his title he makes, then we'll know for sure.

And this is the reason why people are up in arms.

However, out of those people complaining, I would bet only a tiny fraction heard or read what he *actually* said - including you. Otherwise, you'd know he said nothing of the sort.

He's clearly a devout Christian. Homosexuality and abortion do not align with his religious beliefs. That's his choice, and many people have those same religious views.

What he stated was that years ago, those acts were illegal and no-one would have thought that culture would change and those acts would become lawful. As a counterpoint, he said that if culture were to change again and as a result paedophilia would be made legal that this would metaphorically cause the 'devil to return'.

I don't particularly like Fury as a person, nor do I think he's good at talking. However, I don't believe is disliking someone because I might be better educated, a better orator, or have different religious or cultural beliefs.

In the run up to the fight, he would have done hours and hours of interviews. The press have picked up on two sentences, and instead of reporting what he actually said which is a bit of religious fervour, have simply reported that he 'compared' homosexuality and abortion to paedophilia.

In the very loosest sense of the word he might have used all of those acts in his analogy, but to even suggest he 'compared' IMHO purposefully suggests that he has said something he has not.

The problem is that what he really said isn't interesting, and, of course, 99% of the people holding the placards and signing the petition didn't actually read what he actually said - otherwise I don't think they'd bother.

I think I will vote for him just to ps off you Looney leftwing tts.

What he says is nothing to what hook and and co say about the UK.
And you get upset about him saying what must of us blokes say (when the wife is not listening of cause) smile

Leave the Gippo to his stupid comments and get on with your life.

"Most of us blokes"? By all means speak for yourself but don't presume to speak for others here.

JustinP1 - incorrect, I had listened to, watched and had read the interview in full prior to commenting.

His comment was "There are only three things that need to be accomplished before the Devil comes home. One of them is homosexuality being legal in countries, one of them is abortion and the other is paedophilia."

From that comment he gives them equal weighting in them contributing to the "Devil comes home" prediction and at no point marks one as more serious than the others.

First - it's religious rhetoric. Who cares?

Second, since when is it automatic in language when someone states 'three things have to happen' that they mean that they are all equal in weight or importance?

There's three things that need to happen before I am made Prime Minister:

1) I need to be elected by my constituency.

2) I need to be made party leader and win a general election.

3) I need to stop typing on Pistonheads.

Now my post is over, I am clearly 33.3% of the way to being Prime Minister...? Unless I specifically state otherwise?

That's four things - clearly the way you can spin them as three makes you an ideal candidate for politics. biggrin
