all, I built with the help of a well know Nissan motorsport outfit and quite a bit of help from RJN a 350z race car based off a road going 2006 car (which I got from ex demo).

The car was raced for 4 years on and off with the odd track day thrown in. The problem is I have the itch to build something new and I know I wont have the time to race this year. So the idea is to sell this and fund a new project - there has obviously been huge amounts of money (to me) and time spent on this and im aware it wont be worth anywhere near that total but what do you think it might fetch?

I wont go through all the mods on here but a few highlights

FIA/MSA cage used across europe supplied by Nissan
6/4 pot AP Racing brakes off a GT4 nissan
Fully adjustable AST suspension
Engine has done 27k miles - most wearable parts replaced running 325bhp on syvecs (intake/exhaust side all swapped out for better)
AIM dash
all the essential safety and cut offs etc
A good plate diff which I cant remember the name of
Oil cooler
diff cooler (switchable)
carbon doors/boot
3 sets of wheels (has run slicks, currently on r888)

It would be worth investigating what Championships and series it could run in to widen its appeal.

I doubt it will fetch any where near the build cost. Race cars rarely do.

A friend recently raffled his race car. He received more than the market price and made a donation to charity too.

I am still a novice so please don't think I am experienced or an expert. My priority for choosing a car would be:

1. Eligibility
2. Condition.
3. Lap times achieved.
4. Likely reliability.
5. Cost & scope to make it faster and parts availability.
6. Layout (FF, FR, MR etc)

Tbh you have to look at the prices of cars that are for sale on PH and on Race cars direct and similar sites and compare them with yours.

There are several BMW e36 m3 s for sale and Porsche 944s / 68s and Boxsters which are natural competitors probably; there are even 2 X nicely specced 350Z rally cars for sale on RCD at €19500.

Any more expensive than those sorts of cars and you may struggle.

What would you actually take for it

Put it on eBay with a reserve based on your minimum take and you will establish the value! If you reach it or better it, happy days. If the offers are low, that might indicate what's it's worth to someone else.

You could almost certainly run it in Britcar Production Championship or 750MC Roadsports. Race Boxsters are currently selling at around the £15000 mark - if that's any help.

It's frightening when you can buy a 10 year old european touring car built by a factory motorsport department for less than 10%of the original price , including a spares package of suspension , gearbox , panels and 3 sets of wheels and tyres.
As many are told when going racing , anything you get for the car after it has been raced is a bonus .

If it is running 325bhp with, say, 10% loss at the wheels it must weigh almost 1500kg to make class A for trackday trophy. If I were you I'd reduce its weight by 300kg and get to the top of class S for Trackday Championship and focus on improving my driving until I was competing for outright race wins and the championship title. I wouldn't sell it unless I'd got to the stage where I'd squeezed every ounce of performance from it, won loads and was ready for a new challenge.

(Or is your post just a for sale advert avoiding the fees?)
