More cops turn up, including the duty boss, I make them move the car and wait for a mechanic to come out to sort the lights, and then get in my car and go.
That's the most amazing story I've ever heard. So, the duty boss leaves his post to come and try and sort out a bit of a contretemps in the middle of the road, and you hang about for goodness knows how long in the middle of the night waiting for a mechanic to turn up to rectify a faulty headlight on a police car. Why did the duty boss leave his post for such a trivial matter? Why did you hang about waiting for the car mechanic in the middle of the night? Why didn't the police car just reverse away from you, turn around and leave you to it? Why weren't you arrested for obstructing a police officer [ie. obstructing his, albeit faulty, vehicle], viz... "excuse me sir, is that your vehicle parked in the middle of the road? If it is, and I believe that to be the case, would you please move along so that I can proceed, thank you sir... No? Did I hear you say... "No, I'm not going to move it"? OK, sunshine, you're nicked."? Why didn't the police officer report you for failing to comply with the directions of a police officer in uniform,[see: Road Traffic Act something or other]? I've no idea, it's a complete mystery.
Why, why, why, why, why...?
He stopped me, claiming I was speeding, read it all, not the bits you want to argue over, and since he stopped me, he had no choice in me moving as I rang through and reported his attitude, and that he was blocking the road and demonstrating piss poor skills. The fact the duty officer turned up is a matter for him to justify, not me or you, but I'm guessing as I was alledging things against the dipstick at the wheel, his boss wanted to make sure it didn't escalate. Why should I have moved, he pulled me over, I was 'helping him' with his broken car as far as I was concerned.

Because it all happened in a parallel universe far far away........Why did the duty boss leave his post for such a trivial matter? Why did you hang about waiting for the car mechanic in the middle of the night? Why didn't the police car just reverse away from you, turn around and leave you to it? That's the one!
And false stop, as in, no proof of any offence, no argument with me once I said I wasn't speeding, false because his car was faulty and shouldn't have been on the road at that time. What would you think it meant?
Just because they have blue lights, sirens, and uniforms doesn't make them always right and doesn't automatically mean you have to believe everything they claim. Fire the doubts back at them and they can, and do, capitulate quite often.
Again chaps, why the hatred? Can you not accept the opinion of others? Things happen, just because they haven't happened to you, doesn't mean they can't happen to someone else.
It really is weird to log on each day and see the latest vitriol and jealousy exerted towards me because I had the audacity to post..... Strange Still, I'm always happy to answer some of them if you insist on asking questions, hence, stop asking questions of me if you don't like the answers I give.

Finally some sense being spoken on here! I too have driven everywhere speeding for the last 70 years, using the urban road network as my racetrack so the hoi poloi can marvel at my greatness while I disregard their right to a semblance of safety. How I hear you ask have I achieved this wonder? I have a radar jammer and puff out my chest when speaking to the police, rendering them powerless jibbering idiots with no knowledge of the law.
If you want to live life in the gimp lane like me, just buy my insurance and radar jammer too! (life coaching also available).*

Assuming your recollection is as clear as you suggest, you'd be able to tell us when/where this was and the name of the duty officer you spoke to. Should be easy enough to verify. And false stop, as in, no proof of any offence, no argument with me once I said I wasn't speeding, false because his car was faulty and shouldn't have been on the road at that time. I do apologise for misleading you. All of my questions were rhetorical. I wasn't asking for, or expecting, any answers. I shall be more explicit next time. Sorry!C70R said:

Back in 2003/4, I was banging a couple girls in Nottingham, and used to go up and stay in a hotel, driving either one of the maseratis, the Aston, or Ferrari. On a Sunday evening, the centre of town was nicknamed the circuit, as all the boy racers would circulate, and park up alongside the bus depot to chat. I used to pull out and run a few lights with them, and then park and chat, they liked to see the cars. Anyhow, the cops used to make them move if they parked for too long, and one night, I was there when the Feds arrived. They actually thought I would also move, stupid, and while all the chaps drove off, I stayed and argued my point since there was no restriction where I was, and I was entitled to park. They got all beetroot faced, and threatened all sorts, but I stayed there until they gave up and left!
