While everyone is deciding now to jump on the OP is a bellend type bandwagon I am still baffled as to why the police wasted their time on this.
The OP was doing something perfectly legal and some Neanderthal complained to the Bibs that the OP was taking a photo of his wife.
Yet the Bibs bothered to investigate. Searching for the OP's address from the DVLA etc. Yet somehow the OP is at fault not the fking time wasting of a Neanderthal who is the one who deserves all the scorn here.

For those of you giving the OP a hard time - shame on you. He is allowed to be weird. He is allowed to take photos of people.

tts who phone then police for absolutely no legitimate reason and tts who work for the police failing to recognise a bullst complaint are the ones who should be ridiculed. Not the OP.
As has been pointed out once or twice already, we know neither the "status" of the people involved or what they told the a Police (by "status" I mean possible DV/harassment victims etc).

So without knowing this or what was said, it's impossible to definitively state the Police were wasting their time.

I don't think he'll ever be back. He's become a laughing stock. Credibility is shot. Weapons-grade bell end status confirmed.

He will currently be setting,up another PH account and will return soon. His new persona will probably appear here to mock the old persona for added deniability.

Never mind their status or even legality if I saw someone taking a picture with a large lens (or if I perceived him to be doing so) of either my young kids or my wifes' backside as she loaded the shopping then we would be on my own thread discussing how I can minimise paying the NHS costs of removing his lens from his backside.

If we take the OP's words as verbatim (and for the record I don't) then the maybe the MOP was a bit over sensitive (bearing in mind Dibbles comments above though) however I still think the police are obliged to follow up even if via a simple phone call? As has been alluded to if it was something more sinister - and I'm sure many serious crimes have been prefaced by an initial photographic recce - we'd all be screaming at the police for not having followed it up.

You're a better man than me Dibble, damned if you do ... damned if you don't .... rolleyes

Oh and all the best for your results fella thumbup

Your toes would curl if you could actually see how much police time is wasted dealing with 'moron fallout' that has nothing to do with crime....

Last week I heard a job on division "my two sons are fighting over the TV remote"

9 and 13 years old but the waste of space parent demanded the police sort it. Had they denied the request and the 13 year old kills the 9 year old then Rovinghawk/daily mail types would be wetting themselves with the 'awaits lessons learnt' phrase they love to band about. If they do attend its a waste of time...... so the police are screwed either way.

Yep me too, I started at the beginning when it was originally posted by the OP and then got bored and all of a sudden it seems to have escalated.

Summary:

Creepy guy posts story of ongoing issue with police

It doesn't quite add up

He won't give more info when asked

He then reports its sorted

It still doesn't quite add up

Then creepy guy posts on his other thread that it was all a fabricated story, having thought about making something up for some time

I've just stumbled onto this thread, I have known the OP through the MX5 club for many years.

I'd happily stand with him than with the baying mob I see bullying an eccentric older gent on this thread.

He took a pic in a car park FFS !

My bold.

Which isn't, nor ever has been, the issue. IMHO, any issue is solely of the OP's making. As has been said, it isn't an offence to take photos in public (outwith harassment/stalking type issues), nor is it an offence to act like a bell end.

There are any number of reasons why the police became involved, from malice, to misunderstanding to genuine issues (or anywhere in between and/or a combination). By the OP's own admission, this isn't the first time he's had police interaction with regards his photography. The OP hasn't said it was the same officer(s), location, or subject, so the only common denominator is... The OP.

If he's happy with the status quo, that's fine. If he isn't, maybe he needs to go into the multi faith room, dim the lights and put on some rainforest/whale song music, sit in the lotus position while doing some deep breathing exercises and have a hard think about what the commonality in his problems might be.

Hint: it's him.

In addition to the reply above, the OP's other thread admits the photo/car park/police story on this one was all made up anyway!!
Better be more careful who your friends are next time I think

Exactly. That's EXACTLY what we've all been saying. It was the OP that made into the problem it turned out to be (allegedly).

Presumably if he explained (and possibly even showed you the photo) when you challenged him rather than staring, silently, into the distance no such costs would arise?

Plus it turned out not to be allegedly even, IT NEVER HAPPENED
OP is a nutter. He says he had been thinking about his amazing scam for some time. As I've said on the other thread, if that's the best he could come up with after 'some time thinking' what the fk would happen if he thought on his feet - st himself?

Have to laugh at the peeps who are still discussing this like it really happened!

For those of you who haven't noticed, HE MADE IT UP, AND HAS SAID SO HIMSELF.

If you thought he was a freak before, he's just moved the game on to something on another level for my money. Utter lunatic.

I don't believe he made it up. That's just him trying to cover his arse.
