Where would your £45k go?

And which one will be worth the most in 5 years time?

22b all day long.

Produced in far fewer numbers.

I don't think either would be a disappointment.

Not driven a 22B, but it's probably better on paper. The integrale has arguably the better image. You can park an integrale next to a supercar and it won't look out of place and get just as many admirers, including the driver of the supercar.

Not sure which I'd have. You can find good evos for near half that though, but not easy.

For me it would be the Grale. It looks a bit more special than the 22b, I think Integrales in general are a rare sight now.

Entirely personal bias.

22B. Missed out on one a few years ago and whilst I don't regret it, I would've loved the chance to own it.

Out of the two I would pick Subaru 22b as if keeping for any length of time then the lancia being LHD would irritate me although IMO lancia is beautiful machine. In my mind the Subaru would retain some usability opposed to integrale evo which I imagine to be quite delicate.

I'd want the Integrale despite the fact I reckon the 22b will be more likely to appreciate. I'd have to drive it on the continent though unless it was a RHD conversion.

Oooh, I'd love an Integrale, especially a Giallo or Club Italia one. Mmmm...

Sorry, what was the question again?

Every real world used integrale I have seen has rust somewhere, the 22b is a much higher quality product.

22B for me. Looks better, goes better, drives better (based on second-hand information, I haven't driven either), built better, more reliable etc.

Just had a quick google and found an old scoobynet thread from 2009 where a UK model 22b was for sale for 25 grand

http://www.scoobynet.com/subarus-for-sale-442/7964...

Interesting because the previous owner had sold it for the same money some time earlier.

Personally I'd choose the Subaru, easier to source parts for, a wider audience for when it comes to sell it and generally I think it would offer a better all round experience. Tough to choose between the two though, because intergrowlers are very very nice...

Could be generational? Lancia for me as never really got Subaru's but they're clearly competent.

Tough choice. Intergrale though... I think!

I was behind one about two weeks back, it just looked so special out on the road.

With something as quick as an Integrale it's not as much of an impediment as you might think. I seem to remember reading that the steering is dreadful on the conversions as the steering arm angles are all ballsed up.

Owned both (well almost: the Integrale was "only" a 16v).

Both brilliant. Evo 2 looks more dramatic and can be had in different colours.

However, if I had to choose one it would be the 22B. Faster, better handling, more grippy and rarer.

From an ownership point of view the 22B is also more reliable. You just get in it and drive anywhere, whereas with the Integrale you're always listening out for something to go wrong or worrying about the advent of corrosion in the bodywork when the weather turns. The Lancia would be better suited to a classic car fan, with a bit of hands-on nouse.

I think the 22B's time is coming from a value point of view. I made about 500 quid on mine: bought for 20.5K and sold for 21K a couple of years later. Prior to that I sold my Integrale 16v for 7K. Both of course are worth a good deal more today.

impreza every time, steering wheels on the proper side before you even start to look at the technical side of things
