Driving on the M1 south tonight I know there's a camera there as well as the overhead gantries

Sat on cruise at 65mph no other speed limits matrix boards off and as I passed the gantry the hadecs 3 flashed twice

So what's the deal with them I certainly wasn't speeding and now I'm slightly worried as to why it flashed tbh

I'd just got on at junction 41 heading south as I was coming off at 39 literally just cruising in the slow lane nice and steady and flash!

Certainly 110% wasn't speeding and know that camera is there anyway but it just lit everything up and startled me tbh
Don't know if they test themselves don't know if it's malfunctioned but if I get a ticket I will be contesting it no question

Can't figure out the deal with these things.......I unquestionably would have triggered the ones near Clacket Lane a month ago should they have been functional, having forgotten about them and blasted through in broad daylight at about a ton, but appear to have got away with it. Didn't stop me bricking it for a fortnight when I realised what I'd done, needlessly as it turns out.

Half tempted to try again, just to seek confirmation..............

I swear I got flashed on the M25 at over a ton and heard nothing.
So I suspect sometimes they flash and fine, sometimes they just flash.
I suspect a flash would be a good anti-speeding deterrent for the rest of ones journey as you would be watching your speed quite closely.

If you weren't speeding I wouldn't worry one bit :-)

These cameras have been installed on a schedule and still are being installed on a schedule. I can't understand how nobody has worked out that they will be tested and set to work in a similar way.
Oh hang on....maybe I can see at least one reason why it hasn't been figured.

Had the same, I was doijg 72 on cruise (I know the speedo over reads anyway) so not speeding but flashed, though not sure if it might have been a car in the next lane as they were going a bit faster than me...

Suppose it's either faulty, testing or set at the old 50 limit maybe?

No point rushing when work was paying me by the hour after 6pm drive steady to site fix a machine and drive steady back
They know where I am and what time I set off due to trackers so if it takes me 20 mins to site driving at a ton 20 mins on site and 20 mins back I'd only get paid an hour, if I drive steady and get there after 45 mins I happened to be 2 hrs on site and the 45 mins back I get paid for 3 n half hours

plus we get bonuses if we achieve certain mpg which they get that data from the fuel cards
