On another site a chap advetised a car sans engine which had been 'shedded' for a few years so no current MOT but sorned BTW it is a pre 1960 car
Chap bought it to sell on the plate. Now when my lad did this with his mini a was a X111 TVR plate it had a new mot, we sold him basically the plate and scrapped the car at once. He then got back PDQ to say that VOSA wanted to see the mini before they would give the OK.As the mini no longer existed they vetoed the whole thing
so how does matey do it, or does the fact that it is pre 60 and not need an mot get over it.
Ok a nice MOT tester can do an MOT but how can he get around VOSA

They only want to see a 0.00000000x percentage of cars. You were unlucky.

Any car needs to have had valid tax within the last six months, without an unlicenced break, to get the plate off.

A pre-60 car can be taxed without an MOT, but if a request comes in for a car that's been off the road for years and has suddenly been miraculously returned to the road seemingly just for the plate, of course attention is going to be paid.

And, yes, they will be checking that it's the same car as the V5C says it is. No swapping plates and chassis plates, unless you're very subtle about it.
