rofl at spending £65k on an F-Pace, Thought these were around £35k mark.
They start at £35k. For a 2wd 2.0 diesel with no toys. The First Edition is a 3.0 v6 AWD with toys.
£65k for an F-Pace is silly money - the base model is £35k!

£65k will put you in a very nicely specced Cayenne or entry level RR Sport.
Neither of which will have the "Ooh look at me, I got one the first, ain't I important" factor, even if they are better buys/cars.

Entry price for a Cayenne diesel is £53k. Metallic, full leather and any rims but -spec 18", you're up to £57k already, before you even hit the toys.
Entry price for a Cayenne petrol is £63k.
Entry price for a Cayenne diesel S is £65k.

You may have noticed I've been on here for many many years so know how It works.

What I don't understand is when you post a situation asking for opinion, and the vast majority of replies are extremely helpful. Then, the vitriol sets in, ignoring the original post and taking the thread off track and now concentrating on our choice of vehicle, irrelevant insinuations about showing off etc.

Such a shame but thanks for the helpful replies.

My question is can they legally misrepresent?
Probably, as it'll say somewhere (probably in multiple places) that the spec is subject to change. It can happen on any car if it, for instance, it gets face-lifted between order and delivery.

Is there anything extra included that wasn't in the original spec?

In what sense? What outcome would you like to achieve?

Bmw had the same problem when the changed to 4 pot petrol and omitted the hold function on the handbrake. They took cars back and also had to change all their brochures etc as the car didn't come with it and couldn't be fitted at all.
Guy on z4-forum highlighted it and a few got different cars.

The z4 thing where hill assist wasn't on 2.0litre cars unless Auto and folk complained. (Really small beer to me as you just find the biting point).

You'll notice the idiots are what some people call 'nyoobs', those of use who gave been here a while refer to them as asshats.

It's to make up for the fact that the have exceptionally empty unfulfilling lives.

I kind of get that specs may change but presumably they have to alter the price accordingly?

Ignoring the seemingly absurd mark up for the "1st edition" I can't believe you can advertise a car for £70k with enough kit on it to make people think it's worth £70k, take a deposit, then deliver a vehicle with £10k less of extras and simply say "Subject to change, st happens"? confused

I know we're not talking £10k worth but I didn't see anything suggestion JLR are offering anything.

No there is nothing additional offered.

I guess we are not really hoping to achieve anything rather than highlighting poor marketing. Whilst hating the compo culture, an admission of screwing up (which they have done) followed by an offer of a free service or something would have been nice. It's the way it's just been dismissed that riles. Not only us, but many on the F Pace forum.

Opinions are like rear ends, everyone has one and not all are nice to look at.

If your going to post threads then you have to expect to take the with the smooth. I don't think my comment was in any way out of order. Just strange someone would spend almost double the list on a car.

PH didn't used to be like that, before people such as yourself came along this was a great forum with real spirit.

Now, there are far too many assholes hiding behind a computer screen.

Would you really talk to a stranger like that? Of course you wouldn't or you'd have been smacked ages ago.

Sounds very much like trolling to me, and that's a nono

So you would spend your money on something else, that's fine each to their own, it seems in the past so has Lady Topaz, take your pick. smile

So having a different opinion to someone else is considered trolling.

What is this the Daily Mail

Because that "opinion" has zero relevance to the question being asked and brings nothing of any use to thread. If you wish to start a thread on the relative monetary value of specific marques and their offerings to the marketplace then pop over to General Gassing and fill your boots.

Even the Daily Mail has different sections for different subject matter.

Something tells me you are wasting your virtual breath. PH asshats getting really annoying these days.

Back to the op. I think this is all about a breach of contract whether actual or implied. But the only solution is s dialogue with Jag asking them what they plan to do about it.

Absolutely no offence meant here (just my personal opinion) but I wouldn't spend anywhere near 60k on a Jag. I know they have slick ads etc but I still see the marque as abit downmarket compared to some others.

Absolutely no offence here either, but the marque or the price has the square root of f*** all to do with the question asked by the OP.
Back on topic, I'd be furious and either be asking for a discount equivalent to now optional extras or a credit note to the value to put towards servicing or the like.
