£65k will put you in a very nicely specced Cayenne
Entry price for a Cayenne diesel is £53k. Metallic, full leather and any rims but -spec 18", you're up to £57k already, before you even hit the toys.
Entry price for a Cayenne petrol is £63k.
Entry price for a Cayenne diesel S is £65k.
In any case the F looks (a lot) more like a Macan with a funny snout.

I would in the first instance simply ask Jaguar what they are going to do about it i.e. will they retrofit the missing parts, refund the cost of those extras or some other answer.

Once you know what they are offering to do about it, you can decide how to proceed.

Would be interesting to know what Jaguar would have done OP if you had just cancelled your order.

What does your OH want?

A reduction in price or free servicing for the inconvenience?
A possibly long wait for a correctly specified car?
To cancel the purchase?
Retro fit, if possible?

If I was Jaguar, I would be very apologetic and ask what would make you happy.

What has the dealer said about these missing options? Have they refused to drop the price to take it into account?

I'm sorry, but we have been asked not to disclose ongoing conversations on any forum, so for the time being I am going to keep quiet.

I will say to those that asked what would happen if we walked away, my view is that in spite of some thinking the car is overpriced tat, there is a large list of people crying out for cancelled orders so I don't think Jaguar would be unduly worried.

Apologies again for not being able to offer closure. If at a later date I can, I will.

And thank you again for the many great responses.

Interesting comment from the Car review of the First Edition:

"Here’s a spec secret for you: the 22-inchers on the already-sold First Edition cars make for worse steering and ride quality."

Off topic, I saw an F Type in the flesh at the weekend, lovely looking vehicle and definitely a change from the same old Cayenne/Range/X5/Toerag that you see.

I'm told that Jaguar are having terrible problems with badly fitting panels on these cars currently.

Don't know how true this is.

Just strange someone would spend almost double the list on a car.
They're not.

It's double for the list price of a much lower spec car.

List price for the 3 litre V6 S with no options is 51k.

Opinions are like rear ends, everyone has one and not all are nice to look at.

If your going to post threads then you have to expect to take the with the smooth. I don't think my comment was in any way out of order. Just strange someone would spend almost double the list on a car.
Sounds very much like trolling to me, and that's a nono

So you would spend your money on something else, that's fine each to their own, it seems in the past so has Lady Topaz, take your pick. smile

So having a different opinion to someone else is considered trolling.

What is this the Daily Mail
You're opinion is also factually incorrect.

Given this is a car forum, so there is an expectation that people will know all about different specifications, it's not too big a leap to suggest that someone trying to compare a 2 litre base spec version with the 3 litre V6 might just be trolling.

Ah. Excellent. Well done.
Clearly Jaguar are offering different solutions to customers based on how hard the customer pushes and which way the wind is blowing. They are on the back foot and now you both know it.

RR in racing green all day long but then again it's not the same sort of vehicle/intended use is it? Well go the fashionistas they'd see them both as town cars but I'd define them as different uses.

IANAL but I would think they would be reasonable grounds for cancelling the contract if you no longer want the car. If they have advertised a car as having x and further down the line they decide that actually the car is going to be equipped with x minus some stuff and you signed up with the original spec published as x then they aren't providing what they said.

You just have to decide whether lack of these options is enough to make you cancel your order.
Sorry mate, don't post things you don't know about. You don't cancel. You get the contract enforced. Jag owe this customer 700 notes, end of.

Personally something like lack of 10 way seats would be a deal breaker and I would reject the car. My experience of standard electric seats vs the 10 ways is like night and day. The standard seats are uncomfortable and nasty, the 10 ways are very nice

Good luck dealing with JLR my personal experience is that they dont give a stuff about their customers, but I guess you have a bargaining point assuming you've only paid a deposit , dont give them the money until its sorted, once they have your cash they will just ignore you.

Worth involving a solicitor if things aren't going your way?

Don't think JLR have a leg to stand on but wasn't impressed with LR when I had issues with my then Discovery.

you don't need a lawyer-county court, not that it will be necessary. My point is, it is a very efficient means of getting things done which don't involve huge sums. I involved lawyers with BMW at great expense but i got what i wanted. Next time id use a different route.

I certainly would not reject the car either-JLR would love that-anyone for over list thanks.
