Hi all,

This may appear to be a really stupid post, but I'd appreciate some reassurance.

Sadly I was fined back in January for overstaying in a KFC car park. After an appeal with the company and POLPA the charge has remained.

I went on to the parking company's website today to pay the fine expecting it to be £100, but the amount outstanding on the payment service was £60. I've paid the £60, but is there any chance they'll come looking for the other £40 that it states on the letter? I'm very far outside of the discount period now.

I've saved the receipt and screenshot the new page which states £0 is outstanding.

Yes, go to the pepipoo.com site and enquire there. It isnt a fine was just an invoice. On there you will get honest opinions as these guys do this as a hobby in fighting these speculative invoices
You may not get your cash back this time, but should it happen again. you will be well informed as how to keep that 60/100 in your pocket.all you will be wasting is 15 mins of your time

A previous OP is correct. What you have been sent IS NOT a fine - it IS an invoice. It may well have the appearance of a fine, (that's the idea), but IS just an invoice. If you just completely ignore it AND ANY FURTHER CORRESPONDENCE, nothing will happen. They are relying 100% on the fear factor of you paying up, because you THINK that something will happen if you don't respond/pay up.
It is a game played by these parking enforcement companies that rely on the idiots that just pay up for the reasons above. That's how they make their money. They assume that around 20%, (like you should have done), will just ignore the letters etc. That theory is what their business model is based on.

It's a bit more complicated than that. It isn't a fine but it could be a legitimate invoice according to a (much mistaken in my view) supreme Court judgement.

The correct way of doing it was to ignore, as the PPC could only pursue the driver. However following the hoo haw by the Great British public on cownboy clamping. It was made illegal in 2012?, the Govt bowed to the demands of the PPC and then said that they can chase the RK. So the new answer is NEVER IGNORE

Now following the Beavis case things have changed again,si all i will to everyone who is about to b chisled by thee rapacious thugs, is to register with pepipoo,ITS FREE, and put up their situations

A couple of pointers

1) NEVER contact the PPC unless it is a hire, company, or lease car as these will pay the invoic and then bill you. so if you get one stuck on the car write back to the PPC

2) NEVER if you have to write to them say I was paked or I di that as you are them giving them the name of the driver. ALWAYS write, the driver did this the driver did that. etc etc

The situation changes a bit where the parking is on'not relevant' land and is another can of worms.to see how a PPC is trying to burn both ends of th candle in getting their money, BUT note that whn the letter was sent to the RK requesting driver details, it was sent back naming the husband, the letter to him was as the hirer of the car. Now he correctly wrote back stating he did not hire that vehicle. That should have been the end of the matter the RK had absolved their responsibility and he truthfully answered their questions as to the driver of the hired car, which it plainly wasnt. They then went back to the RK,which they shouldnt have done, and as is stated in the thread shot themselves in the foot by various claims, which tend to negate each other.
It is worth a read, and no doubt the naysayers on here who dislike pepipoo may even get to understand how these firms operate. If we didnt have pepipoo and MSE to assist us numpties who get these invoices, they would be raking in millions, near enough fraud,or evn obtaining money under false pretences.
Please give it a read

I have no interest in pepipoo apart from reading about these cases and learning something new ESP parking on DYL, when it is legal, and when it can be ticketed, and the last bit is an eye opener that i dareay we have all done in the past thinking we were OK

I'd stayed for 1 hour and 19 minutes - there was 1 hour free parking... I was blissfully unaware of parking restrictions at the time.

I have followed plenty of advice for appealing the Parking Charge Notice and both internal and POPLA appeals were rejected.

Following those rejections I sought advice from Citizens Advice and was advised to pay the PCN. Hence, I went onto their website to pay. Their most recent correspondence stated £100, but the website suggested a payment of £60 was outstanding. I paid the £60 and am looking for reassurance that I will not be liable for the £40 remainder due to their administrative error.

Nobody on here can give you that assurance, they will either send you another invoice or they will not.
