Nope, still waiting for the court date, which will probably be a week before the 6 months are up. It must amuse them.

If it were my job to sent them out, that's exactly what I'd do. Simple pleasures and all that.

I expect they have read roofers comments on this thread and are making him sweat.

Are you the same roofer who said elsewhere that people who break/ignore laws are "Scumtards"?

You appear to have double standards, sir.

Friend of mine has just had an NIP for 82/70. Stupid stupid place where they are always sat. I despair. Anyway he is on 9 points the first of which will expire in April next year.

Have already passed on agtlaw's details but I'm bookmarking to see how roofer gets on.

Does your friend have a similar attitude to roofer?

Sorry to that that Roofer. Recently came off 6 month totting up ban. Stupid signs like animals in the road take ages to clear as police/traffic officer have to verify the road is clear. To get clocked for that is a bd. Plead intolerable hardship if you can. Eat it up and smile nicely at humourless magistrates if you can't.

Another Rebel Without A Clue. Like Roofer, thinks he's fighting the system, when in fact he's just propping it up!

Don't want to start a new thread
I did some googling and see that they used to have 14 days to give you a letter for points? Is that 14 working days or days in total? I may have been caught but I only seen camera last minute as their view was obscured by trucks
It's been 14 days total on Sunday coming

14 days to serve the letter (posting it on the 14th day is classed as served), doesn't have to be recorded either.

Unless you aren't the keeper on the V5 (company car for example), long as the first one is sent out within the time limit, the second one doesn't have to be.

No it isn't.

It needs to be posted in such time that it would be served within 14 days in the normal course of post. A NIP posted on day 14 could never be served in time.

Maximum of a month to wait then, was it the same day as you posted? Tbh if I were you I'd be starting to get my hopes up. I don't see what benefit there is for them in delaying it - ooh I know I'll keep this on my desk for 5 months! I guess some folk will benefit as some points may have dropped off their licence in the meantime.

They regularly come just in time - mine was 5 months in

Remember that it's the public sector - "why do it now when it doesn't have to be done for another 6 months", I'll get back to the guardian and mumsnet mentality

If they had 9 points at the time of the latest offence, it won't make any odds if they've dropped off since.

Think the 6 month kicks in from when I sent request for court appearance, not 100% , but another fella I know was caught by the same camera, and is also waiting a court date. His request was about 3 weeks prior to mine, and he hasn't heard yet.

I hope it works out ok for you roofer.

The maximum points I've had on my licence was six.I have a clean licence now for about six years only luck I suppose.

It is a money making scam in my opinion .

Probably. It must be a dead boring job, so the people who do it need to get a bit of enjoyment somehow.
