12 Points on the Horizon...

It's not a case of it being ok or not ok. People and systems make mistakes. To err is human. Creeping over the limit for a second is very unlikely to get you a ticket but even then 3 points and a fine isn't the end of the world.
Which is another way of saying cameras and operators are allowed to be human, drivers are not. They target a lovey money making situation near where I work. You go down a big hill (past a static camera), give it a little gas to get up the large hill the other side and the few seconds you may be over the limit at the bottom of the dip before climbing said hill, they catch you with a well placed van a few hundred yards past the static camera, hidden in a layby.
Absolutely disgusting and uttery pointless. Tell me how that is anything other than "oooh, this will help the targets"

Not that that's what's being talked about here, anyway.
Quite, but then he clearly hasn't had an unblemished record and just crept over the limit for a second Not that that's what's being talked about here, anyway.
No points. They tried to pin something on me not so long ago, but they cocked up. But hey, instead of fighting it, I should have just accepted their mistake because 3 points and a fine isn't too bad!
They didn't even say sorry.

Actually I was talking about the OP.No points. They tried to pin something on me not so long ago, but they cocked up. But hey, instead of fighting it, I should have just accepted their mistake because 3 points and a fine isn't too bad!

No, if you were sure you weren't speeding you should challenge it, I never suggested otherwise. However that isn't what you were talking about is it. You were talking about straying over the limit, so actually speeding. They also don't get you as soon as you go over the limit, there is a margin.
Saying "playground stuff" everytime you're challenged doesn't help your argument.

f it did they would focus on enforcing speed limits where pedestrians could be hit by cars which they never do.
Yes they do, I can think of several areas I know where this is the case.In fact a few years back a couple of neighbours and I were able to request some specific speed enforcement near a pedestrian crossing close to our houses. Police were happy to oblige, three or four times over a couple of months.
How are they 'scams' though? They are enforcing the legal speed limit, all drivers are aware that exceeding the limit by a small amount leaves them open to detection and a fine.
For it to be a scam the authorities would, for example, fine you for something that was not against the law or try other ways to trick you out of your money.
You, I or others may not like the way it is done but it is simply not a 'scam' it is enforcement of the legal speed limit.

Given that you might possible be about to be banned is it a good idea to be doing 80mph in a 60 zone?
Fair enough if that's what you think being a petrolhead is all about but then it's a bit silly to complain about getting points.
Are you his dad? It is obviously not a good idea but I bet it's fun.Fair enough if that's what you think being a petrolhead is all about but then it's a bit silly to complain about getting points.

Some of us like to drive, I did 80 in a 60 on a country lane tonight,
I said right at the start of this thread that the OP's attitude indicated to me that he just didn't get it.9 points on licence, another 3 probably in the post and yet this, from someone that needs their licence for work.
People like the OP are like Christmas come early for the speed enforcement industry.

Your opinion has no value, you are a nobody in a sea of nobodies. Would you like the number of a good councillor?

You, you're a sad sack of shore who has nothing of value to add, I suspect you're wife/boyfriend has worked out the same, and you sit alone in Internet land feeling important, but you're not. You're nothing but a 2 bob .
Trading insults on the internet at midnight doesn't exactly imply you are living the dream either. Some of us like to drive, I did 80 in a 60 on a country lane tonight, bloody enjoyed myself too. Which they attempted to make much, much smaller in certain areas. I wonder why? Also, wasn't there going to be zero tolerance policy by the Bedfordshire police and crime commissioner which he admitted was simply to raise funds?
An approach no different to the camera van they hide near to where I work and hundreds if not thousands of others all across the country / world.

Hey, OP, aren't you the retard banging on in the other thread about how we should respect the law and the police, and people that don't are scumtard, whatever the fk that means?
And now you've been caught, because you're a moron that doesn't learn, and you're launching your toys out the pram about it?
Is that about right, yeah?

As previously, I come across them every day. Are his actions justified ? Yes. Because he's trying to uphold the law and being obstructed. If the police had a bit more support from the left wing pc nambite pambie do gooders, these situations wouldn't occur in the first place.
Scumtard in car wouldn't need a new windscreen if he had complied with coppers request. Coppers, and inner London ones especially, have to deal with the absolute scum of society on an hourly basis.
I've had a similar scumtard come out of his flat threatening my scaffolders with a table leg because they woke him up at 10 am.
These people are scum, they just want to work the system to their advantage, nobody else counts. Copper is a grafter who does an honest day's work to feed his kids, but all of a sudden, he's a rascist nut. No he's not, he's a human being, who is fed up having the piss taken out of him, and what he's trying to do, keep decent folk safe. So enough of the copper bashing, I' m no saint, never have been, but when I got a thick ear of the local Bobby , I gave the man a bit of respect, and therein lies the fault, the erosion of society has loaded opinion in the scums favour, but if any one of the condemners has the balls ls to do what the copper does every day, then go for it ....nah, there ain't none.

My view of speed cameras and road policing is entirely pragmatic. It is a fact of life that I need to accept and get on with. Whether or not I agree with the way it is done is not going to change it and neither is whether it is convenient for me and my interests. The same applies to any law. If I choose to break a law then I do so in the knowledge that it is at my own risk and I am fully aware of the potential consequences.
