It is a money making scam in my opinion .
It may be a money making exercise, but it's not a scam. We all know the rules and the penalties in advance. They are not overcharging us on the published fines or fining us when we didn't commit the offence. So I don't see how it's a scam.

A scam is when they take the money twice, or don't supply you with the goods you paid for, or deliberately cheated you in some way.

Nope, still waiting for the court date, which will probably be a week before the 6 months are up. It must amuse them.

If it were my job to sent them out, that's exactly what I'd do. Simple pleasures and all that.
Which sums you up perfectly, no?
Probably. It must be a dead boring job, so the people who do it need to get a bit of enjoyment somehow.
That's because they are sad, sad lonely nobodies. Yep, sums you up to a tee.

That last post sums up many of the comments on PH, a baseless assertion with its origins in personal predjudice.

Well, that has happened quite a lot, actually.

Has it?

Can you provide evidence?
You also need to define "quite a lot". What percentage of fines are unjust?

What has that got to do with the content of my post?

You are ascribing negative attributes to people based on the fact that you don't like the job they do. It's meaningless although it does tell us something about you.

And so it begins.

How about not causing an argument?

Try it. The forums are so much better when people type as they would talk if face to face.

Please try it! No cocky comebacks, no playground tactics, no name-calling, no personal attacks, no snide remarks...just chat. Sitting in a pub enjoying a pint kind of chat.

Yes, it has happened a lot. No idea on percentages, but then as we know with camera parterships, it's hard to find out such info. Plus, you could (as they do) simply adapt the percentages to show how many vehicles were fined for no reason on a very specific stretch of road at a very specific time. We could probably get to 100%, then.

No he isn't.

If you read the posts carefully he isn't 'ascribing negative attributes to people based on the fact that you don't like the job they do', he is ascribing negative attributes to people based on an assumption of the way they conduct themselves carrying out whatever job they do, an assumption that another person admitted he would be likely to do, an assumption that in this context involves perhaps attaining a perverse pleasure in increasing the torment of a person awaiting a decision or not that may well affect their livelihood.

On your way laddie, you have nothing interesting to add, I bet your 12000 odd posts are equally boring. What you say, nobody cares, apart from your little band of tank top wearers.

Go to a site that may take an interest, I for one , do not.

I'm not starting an argument. You made an assertion, I asked you to back it up. If you think that is argumentative then so be it but it is not an unreasonable request.

It's far too easy to make comments like this but have no actual evidence.

He's making assumptions based in what?
That the deliverately leave it till the last minute?
How does he even know the motivation behind this? Maybe it's just to do with workload maybe it's sonething else. Either way he doesn't know.

On the basis of this he then goes on to ascribe negative attributes that even if his first assumption was correct still have no basis in fact.

Come on, be honest, it's obvious that the basis for these negative assumptions are his dislike of the people doing the job.

Tank top wearers?

You do like to make assumptions about people don't you biggrin

BTW, wide of the mark. I've never owned a tank top in my life and I never will wink

You said "Has it?"

You either know it has happened or not. If not, like many here, you have done zero research yourself yet feel able to comment. I never understand that. If you know it has happened as I suspect, well, playground tactics.

You had your chance.

Of course I dislike the people doing the job, because they cannot get a proper job. Same as traffic wardens, and high st security guards etc.

I should make the point that I only reply to your post because I know you are sad and lonely, and you get excited when someone shows an interest. But my interest is false, I just feel a little sorry for you, same as your mates. Damp dark bedroom, no female companion, bottle of WKD maybe, or even Red Wine if you're posh.

Get yourself a bit of counselling, make friends, you could turn out to be an interesting fella. I genuinely wish you well in your search. Best of luck. Have you tried Internet Dating? What's to lose !

What are you on about?

Any system with humans involved is going to produce errors, mistakes, or whatever. I never said otherwise. You were the one who said it happens quite a lot, I'm simply asking on what basis you can say this. It will happen but how do you know it happens quite a lot?
