Don't worry about it.

You would be far better off taking yourself down to the local Adult Education Centre and getting some English lessons, because you seem to be struggling at the moment.

I hope this helps.
Tragically pathetic.

Is there any requirement to report an accident if no third-party damage was caused and the car is immediately removed from the scene?
No.

Rolled a car and left the scene eh? What are the rules on leaving the scene of such a severe accident even if another vehicle isn't involved?

That's what I was asking, essentially.

Sounds like your associates are both idiots to me.
Just on the specific point of "severity", it doesn't take much energy to roll a car. If the car has enough energy to roll up a 1 metre high slope, if you get the angles right you could get it onto its roof on the flat. If you stick a wheel into a steep edged ditch you'll need even less energy. So you could certainly describe the outcome as "severe", but a flipped car doesn't necessarily imply a lot of energy was dissipated in the crash. It can all be surprisingly slow and gentle.

It's only reportable if personal injury is caused to a person other than the driver of that vehicle, or if damage is caused..

- to a vehicle other than that vehicle or a trailer drawn by that vehicle

- to an animal other than an animal* in or on that vehicle or a trailer drawn by that vehicle

- to any other property constructed on, fixed to, growing in or otherwise forming part of the land on which the road or place in question is situated or land adjacent to such land.

[ * - where 'animal' means any horse, cattle, ass, mule, sheep, pig, goat or dog.]

Forgetting the moral high ground for a second, last night my brother in law and his mate we're out driving in said mates wife's car.

They had fit brake pads to it then gone to the pub then came back and misjudged a bend in a lane and put it on it's roof.

I'm not 100% sure if he was over or not but after rushing out there, pushing it back over and giving it a jump start it started but wouldn't drive, it's busted a CV joint. How I'm not sure as it all seemed to be pretty straight bar the bodywork.

So I swiftly towed it up the road and got it to his house.

They were scared the AA would call the police and weren't sure if he was over or not.

My question is would I have got nicked for towing him should we have been pulled over?
Don't worry about it.

I'll give you a lift. wink

In light of all the illiterate (completely unreadable) garbage that litters the Internet, I don't think we can castigate the OP too much for a couple of misused apostrophes which you could easily attribute to dodgy iPhone autocorrect.

I wouldn't worry about it. It seems that MM's speciality is having a pop at the OP.

You know those posts that are witty, cutting, insightful and really, really put the OP in their place?

That wasn't one of them.

Every licence offence code's got a +2 (Aiding, abetting, counselling, procuring), a +4 (causing, permitting) and a +6 (inciting) equivalent.

That's not true - or at least, it's misleading. DVLA codes are not laws - there is no such offence as "DR14", or "DR10" for that matter.

Causing or permitting offences only exist where they are specifically created by statute, as with no insurance for example. There's no such offence as causing or permitting drunk driving, because the Road Traffic Act s5 doesn't say "a person who causes or permits another to (drive while sloshed) also commits an offence". The fact that the DVLA have a coding system which would allow for the possibility of such an offence doesn't mean that the offence actually exists.

Aiding and abetting could still apply though - that's a general rule which applies to any offence, whether or not it involves driving.

Incidentally there's no such thing as "inciting" an offence these days - the common law offence of incitement was abolished in 2008 and replaced with various offences of " encouraging or assisting an offence". The DVLA and/or that website are seriously out of date if they still talk about "inciting"..
