Hang on a minute, you've missed out a couple of very important stages in all of this!:

1) What sort of idiot would design these wheels and think they look good?

2) What sort of idiotic company would think these wheel look good and actually manufacture them?

1) He's getting paid

2) They're getting paid, or they're demo wheels showing off what they can do/get publicity.

From what I've seen it's an existing design where they've pushed the face design further out. I can't tell if the spokes extend past the lip, but in theory it could be a face designed for a very deep flat lip used with a shallow lip.

So getting paid to design these wheel, and getting paid to make these wheels makes them look good? - Or are you just stating that they are paid idiots? confused

Sorry, but anyone who designs, manufactures, buys, or just sees the wheels and thinks that they look good, must have about 0.0001% of the intelligence of a half-wit!

They're a company who produce wheels, they don't have to think they look good, just that it is what the client wants, and is what the client gets. You know, how business works?

As a purely show wheel they're interesting, I don't think they look right on a Mk3 Golf however, the design is much too sharp for its shape.

The whole point of the Woethersee show is to be as different and outrageous as possible. To get you car as noticed and talked about as possible.

Mission accomplished.

As someone mentioned earlier, they do look like they have the wrong size lip on. Not actually designed like that, more the owner has taken them apart and put them back with different parts.

I presumes its a static car? Which seems more pointless than buying a rare car just to put in a de humidified bubble.
