Im a taxi driver, my council have issued a new dashboard id badge we MUST display "prominently" in the view of passengers

i think its a potential legal minefield re-obsured vision

ours are the first 2, the last is the one issued to taxis in the council a few miles away which i wouldnt object to

ours are 8" x 5", maybe not an MOT issue but post accident investigation i can see issues

Attach to passenger sun visor, fold down when you've a fare on board, fold up when you're alone.

Don't know why you'd put it directly in front of your line of sight.

was only place i could take a decent image, the one in front of the radio is for size comparison purposes, sunshade down at night might look a bit odd

Seriously? You cannot think of a single prominent location in your car where that won't obscure your vision?

You could buy yourself a kepi and fix the licence to the back of it, slightly to the left (as viewed from the back and assuming you have a RHD car). Only wear the kepi when you're at work - and its position will mean it's visible from all your passenger seats.

It also gives you a great conversation starter and will assuage your fears re the MOT.

Leave the clip attached, it will be in plain view of the customer without causing you a vision problem.

Not being funny but if you can't solve this problem how do you go about finding obscure places and dealing with obnoxious passengers?

OP, I think you are looking for an issue where there isn't one.

Indeed.

Put it on the dash, just to the left of those centre vents. Job jobbed.

Or photocopy it and stick one on the back of the headrest and one on the dashboard.

Get a tablet/phone mount, maybe one that attaches to a vent. Put ID in mount. Job done.

Should fit nicely onto one of these and still be seen by passengers, even before they get in the car.

Get it tattoo'd on the back of your head and drive round without a headrest.

Jesus. Want me to tie your shoelaces too?

Ha ha. Last two posts had me in stitches.

Ps perhaps it could be reprinted as a wrap. Customers with poor vision will find it easier.
