Annoying tax disc question
Discussion
Both my MoT and road tax on my Vespa run out tomorrow.
Having booked an MoT online for this lunchtime the garage profess to have no idea of the booking, or that they even have an online booking system.
The earliest they say it can be done is Wednesday.
I don't have time to sort anything else for today or tomorrow, so this might be the only option.
Now, Do I really have to SORN the damn thing until Wednesday or can I just leave it, considering the bank holiday and all?
It leaves me untaxed for a day or two but then the new tax disc and MoT will be valid from the day after the old one ran out.
(edit: yes I realise we don't have tax discs anymore. I've not been well)

If they don't have an online booking system and you booked online, then someone must own that online booking page. If so it might be a similarly named MOT station. Perhaps you can recheck where you booked? Might find your booking is still alive, somewhere!
This. If it was me, I'd be going down this line of enquiry. Did you get an email confirming the booking? Does the email give an address of where to take it for MOT?
I got an email, a Google Calendar invite, and an email reminder.
All with the correct name and address of the company.
Clearly what has happened is that at some point they said "ooh let's get a website with an online booking facility" but being a luddite bike shop then never bothered to look at any bookings that were made, and probably forgot it was there.
I am going to take printouts of the website, the booking page, the emails - the lot - and take them there to remind them that it is 2016 and this is how people do business now.

May be worth waiting until you have a pass certificate in your hand first Edited by Busa mav on Friday 29th April 16:30

Have a whinge at Trading Standards, maybe local press too. If others have been similarly messed about it might bring them out of the woodwork. All with the correct name and address of the company.
