Oh, please!
What this outfit are bpa members and they are so they can get dvla keeper data. So they should play by bpa rules.

Bpa regs says they have to to take accurate time stamped photos of the car to prove their case I got one from horizon they had 4 shots of the car and 1 of a sign which seemed goo evidence to support their claims.

i can't see the op wining a popla appeal though.

They can either cough up or fight them if their signs and paperwork aren't compliant. If they have photos of the car I would of thought an appeal was a waste of time.
Sorry - my bad. I meant "Oh, yes, please. Post the pics! We need a good laugh..." - I can see how it could have been misconstrued as "Oh, please! Seriously, get a grip!"...

To clarify, I was parked over 2 bays.
I didn't take a photo of how I was parked as i didn't think to.
The car was parked with both wheels over the line by less than an inch, so a tyre width further over from where the car is pictured.

I have already said that it was across two bays, and the car was moved to show how tight it was. It was far less than a foot gap, I had about 6inches. The pictures show how little room I had, would I have used 1 bay. It's more the fact I found all the bays were the same width (bar one, which was used when I got there) and tried parking in 3 different bays all being unable to get out of the car.
I, perhaps could've let the OH out of the car and parked nose in, but to get the front in, the back would've been over the end of the bay and perhaps would've got ticketed for that.

Would it have been better to drive in, taking up one bay? Not really, as had someone parked next to me, I wouldn't have been able to get it, and got a ticket to going over the time. I parked right at the top, in the corner away from everybody else making sure that I disrupted as little people as possible. Had it been peak times, I would've parked elsewhere rather than taking up a couple of bays.

So yeah, I am "banged to rights" regarding parking across two bays, but I was asking whether it was worth appealing as the car would barely fit across two bays, let alone parking with room to get out.
None of this makes any sense.

I would still challenge it pointing out the width of the bay's prevented you parking in one bay. I would also measure the bay's and ask them to tell you the width, is it possible they do not xomply with "Their" laid down requirements.

Having used the car park in the op's post I can agree he would struggle in a an end bay but if the space next to it was free I can park an Audi A4 in one of those bays in the lines. At the end of the day it's not a Range Rover and in a ppc controlled or council run car park your not going to get away with taking to two bays, if you do be prepared to pay.

Just out of interest....

If you park across two bays, exactly half and half, BUY TWO TICKETS, place one on each front side window or corner(s) of dash....

What can they do?

Issue a charge notice as that will be covered in their terms of business.

One thing that hasn't been asked... How wide are the bays? Has anybody actually measured them?

The standard for a parking bay is 2.4m x 4.8m. A Megane coupe is a gnat's over 1.8m wide - 40mm narrower than a Mondeo (which is also 70mm too long for a standard bay), 100mm narrower than a 7-series (300mm too long).

I'm not quite sure how the OP's obesity would be the car park operator's fault, but...

Hold on, so the OP's picture isn't how the car was parked at the time?

What was the point of posting it then?

I knew I shouldn't have trusted a man with long fingernails.

Has anyone suggested the old advice for any Parking Charge Notice of just ignoring it and waiting for it to go away?

Or has that all changed? I thought only Penalty Charge Notices (issued by council/LA etc) were the ones more likely to be enforceable.

Last time I got such a notice, I just ignored it, and nothing ever came of it, and this was the advice of Pepipoo as well. This was... 3-4 years ago.

yep google beavis vs parking eye high court Nov 2015 allowed £100 charge on 56 min overstay in 2 hour free carpark. Didn't appeal or popla then went to court on the 'Not genuine per-estimate loss' card ONLY!!! and lost at the supreme court, some think he was paid by parking eye to lose so they have precedent case law. Pretty much any PPC is hanging their hat on this case and more willing to go legal.

Don't ignore but can still be won don't appeal window ticket wait for NTK.

The law changed in 2012 that enabled the sharks to hold the Keeper liable (Curiously it states that this is not necessarily the same as the registered keeper), although the vast majority of the PPC manage to screw up the requirements in one way or another, hence why it is advisable to wait for the notice to keeper to arrive.
Beavis did only focus on one very specific area of the whole issue, but this is now being used by the PPC as a way to bluster people into payment.

I'm nit actually obese,just a little overweight.
The facelift Megane RS is 2037mm wide, slightly wider than a GTR. So it would still leave me with only 30cm to open the door, which isn't enough.

If two Volvo S80's parked centred of the bay's (cos I Have an S80, width 1861), then there would be 540mm between doors, 21 inches, but as we know people do not park between the lines.

However if the end bay you were in wasn't wider than 2.4 and you had parked a Volvo S80 between the lines, you would only have had 270mm between the door and wall.

How on earth can anyone exit a car with an opening of 270mm (10.5 inches.)

Maybe the end bays in car parks should be wider to take this into account. Fight it.

Hope I got all the figures right, had a glass or two.................

Night night all.

If you're "just a little overweight", you won't need that much extra width.

The extra width over the cooking Megane coupe will be in wider arches. The doors aren't further apart. But, anyway, if you do choose to drive a particularly wide car, you should perhaps expect that parking it may be an issue.

And it should be said that that those who run car parks should appreciate modern cars are wider. When our local ASDA had its car park completely resurfaced, the bay's were made a tad wider.

Having said that we see on a daily basis "small" cars which drivers still have an awful problem parking.

Bigger spaces = fewer spaces. Choose.

I would choose a bigger car park with lots of large spaces. Obviously 2cvs would be banned.
