Just to let you know the ANPR cameras and new HAYDEC cameras, are all interlinked, does speed and ANPR purposes, all go live on the A312, A316, A40, A406 on the 1st June 2016.

The time delay for the cameras on the Motorway Network is 20 seconds, this means if you are coming up to a 70 mph sign and they drop to 50 in front of you, you will have 20 seconds to adjust your speed, at 60mph travelling speed in 20 seconds you will have covered ⅓ of a mile, this deem plenty of time for you as you will have plenty of adjustment time.

The cameras will be linked to speeds shown on the Motorway, so if you have a 50 shown it will give you 10% + 2 = 57mph, although there is a bill going through in Scotland to do away with 10% + 2, although English forces are saying it cannot be enforced at a rigid limit as there is calibration to take into account.

From someone in the know ,if its wrong dont shoot the messengersmile

I don't think you need to be shot with that message but you are not far off.

The problem with your message is that it is not even good enough to be wrong.

There is simply nothing in it that is of any truth or accuracy, maybe you should repost it with everything struck through.

Tapereel, if you do know the correct info, perhaps you could share it? I use the A316 most days so knowing when it's going live and what the tolerances are, would be ideal. Thanks.

Why ever would you need to worry about ANPR cameras?

When is someone going to do us a favour and invent a camera which detects those utter prunes who change lanes on a crowded dual carriageway without indicating, automatic court summons (dangerous driving charge) on the doormat the next day?

Changing lanes without indicating is a million miles below the threshold for a dangerous driving charge. You'd struggle to make careless driving stick. So if you had such a camera, they'd all be found not guilty anyway.

I've only ever known of 2 people with a dangerous driving conviction, and both involved a high speed police chase as they tried to evade capture.

Wishful thinking - I wasn't sadly being serious.

Two 20-mile motorway runs today resulted in three near-accidents when some dopey amoeba pulled out in front of me expecting me to read their mind about their intentions.

How can anyone really think this is an appropriate way to drive?
