Assigning a car without the logbook, Possible?
Discussion
So, Mr and Mrs Trevatanus are no more, and she has moved away.
Car is in my name and I want to assign it to her, as currently I am paying the road tax.
She is being a little slow in posting the log back back to me though ( I cannot imagine why!) , and I really want to assign it to her asap.
Do I need her to play ball?

Pay £25 for a duplicate logbook. Order on the phone and receive it within 5 days.Car is in my name and I want to assign it to her, as currently I am paying the road tax.

Fill it in with her as the new keeper and send it off to the DVLA. Job done.
She will have to tax it or declare it SORN from the day of the change of registered keeper.

Maybe because she has figured out you will have to deal with all the S.172 requests and NtOs/NtKs for parking contraventions. liquidfox said:
You'll at least need the 11 digit reference from it, then you can do it online.
