Just a quick question, anybody know of the correct action to highlight false statements in a preplanning application?

Is it direct to planning or wait to next phase?

I'd pick the phone up asap and ring the Borough or council concerned or go and visit the planning dept in person.

When you say 'false'; what do you mean? That they've included land not in their ownership but they've said it is or is it something in the A3 presenter/plans you've seen that doesn't accord? Just interested that's all. Well, nosey actually - it's really none of my business! smile

Are they factually false or subjectively false?

Factually false.

Calling barns and farm stores "previously developed land". small things which when added up create a different picture to reality.

They are previously developed land.

If you are objecting the issue you need to focus on is whether the development of former agricultural buildings is against the policies in the local plan.

Cheers Loafer123,

I was using this hence my thoughts

There are five identifiers used to define brownfield land:

Previously developed land which is now vacant
Vacant buildings
Derelict land and buildings
Other previously developed land or buildings, currently in use, allocated for development in the adopted plan or having planning permission for housing
Other previously developed land or buildings where it is known there is potential for redevelopment.

Buildings and surrounding land that are currently in use for agricultural or forestry purposes are excluded from the definition set out above.

Where is that definition from, and is it referenced in your local planning policies?

Just to add that you will have already spotted the applicant is not saying it is brownfield land, they are saying "previously developed" which is factually true but probably irrelevant for planning purposes.
